    Litchi waypoint question

Yes, you are right, the bird will complete a mission without the RC signal. However, I believe tevek was talking about End-of-Mission actions; what happens when the last waypoint is completed. Hover is the default end-of-mission action, but if you prefer, you can also set the end-of-mission...

    Litchi Mission Hub Ground Elevation

Yes, many ways to skin a cat. If you have found a way to plan missions in a way that addresses your concerns, all is good. I'll probably stick with cursoring through Google Earth because it seems much easier to me. Most of my Litchi planning on long distance runs revolves around finding...

    Litchi Mission Hub Ground Elevation

Yes, the new Litchi capability has been discussed in other threads. It is a nice addition. I like it. However, it does not really address all the concerns mentioned in the older posts above. It's true that Litchi will now let us set waypoints with reference to ground elevations, AT the...

    Well, what exactly has changed...?

That sounds about right. And yes, that works out to be about 47 mph, which is far less than either 90 or 180 mph, but certainly still fast enough to ruin the day of anyone in the path below.

    Well, what exactly has changed...?

Not really. Those are speeds for free fall in a vacuum. The terminal velocity of a P4 in the atmosphere is far less than that, but very hard to calculate.

Litchi/P4P - Guaranteed altitude at waypoint?

Yes, I think the newest version does work exactly as you outlined. However, I have found that this feature still isn't a substitute for the KML file method using Google Earth, or at least a manual check and calculation of everything in the flight path in Google Earth anyway. It's true that...

Litchi app crashed during waypoints mission

The short answer is, Litchi has to work within DJI SDK limitations. Technically, the Phantom could have been designed another way, but it is what it is. Speed changes, Gimbal Pitch, and Finish Actions are all done within the Litchi app, through the RC link in real time with the bird. So they...

Litchi app crashed during waypoints mission

I know the feeling. It's a good idea to plan and execute some simple missions first, to build confidence in the app, before launching longer missions. Your early tests in an open field are a very good idea.

Litchi app crashed during waypoints mission

Yes, it actually does return to home with Smart RTH, with the Litchi App. Smart RTH is set by the DJI Go app, but it persists in the bird indefinitely, even if you run the Litchi app a month later. I've had a couple of instances where Smart RTH kicked in during a Litchi mission, when I had...

Litchi app crashed during waypoints mission

You can execute control with the RC during waypoint missions (assuming you are in RC range), and the bird will respond to your commands, e.g. you can raise or lower the altitude. However, the Litchi mission will resume according to plan when it reaches the next waypoint, which will then...

Litchi app crashed during waypoints mission

Yes, it will finish the mission, whether or not you restart the app. In fact, it will finish the mission, whether or not you have your RC is turned on. Once you launch the mission, the bird will fly all the waypoints as planned, even if you shut down your RC. However, you will need the app...

How Long Could The DJI Phantom 3 Standard Fly For at 25mph

I agree completely. A mission planned for 18 minutes is about all I would plan for, because you need something in reserve for contingencies (e.g.,Litchi cannot account for winds, and probably doesn't fully account for energy needed for altitude changes for example). Smart RTH may be too...

    New Project using Phantom 3

Yes.... there are a thousand other problems to solve before this business can be successful. Most of those problems have nothing to do with getting a drone to carry a package. Autonomous airspace deconfliction, hive management and capacity, platform reliability, customer safety mechanisms, and...
