    South Africa

Thanks! I just got back and flew four times while there. A couple of thoughts/additions.... No flying in any national park is allowed. I did fly in a private game reserve, and that went well after getting permission from the operators of the reserve, with the note that even in private...

    South Africa

hi all! I am going to be spending a couple weeks here in South Africa. I am a us citizen, registered with the faa, non-commercial. Can I fly legally in South Africa, and if yes, what are the general outlines of the rules there? Thanks so much in advance. Jo

    Litchi App Crashing

I have nexus 7, second generation. Thirty flights, one app crash with Litchi. Totally stock, running 5.1.1. Many threads here on the Google play services, have you perhaps a problem there?

    litchi help

It is important to know what the error is. When Litchi is loading a mission, it checks the requested flight route against limits that you've put in place (like maximum height, certain conditions on radius). You can go through the way points one by one and make sure that you've not sent something...

    Litchi - Stable?

I consider Litchi much more stable. It is not third party firmware, you will still be running DJI firmware on the quad and the RC. Both qualitatively (the video is consistent and smooth) and the number of times the app has locked (once associated with a developer firmware change from DJI) the...

    Electric Fence Fly Away

I have seen this on my P3. The antennas are directional and they have nulls, or places with very little signal. It can be that the antennas, if arranged from max signal at the horizon, will have no signal directly above. Before I learned this, I had my phantom above me and it lost radio, but it...

    New P3P Owner Advice Needed

Great resource! Only suggestion is to make it generic (i.e., not specific to tablet used) Thanks!

    Litchi help

Oh, you're welcome. I am a big fan of Litchi! :-) By the way, VC Tech, the guy running Litchi was discussing prioritization of new features today and the camera thing is at the top of the list. Good luck and happy flying!

    On fence: Litchi or AutoPilot?

I have been flying alpha Litchi for about a month on a Nexus 7 ii. The stability has been excellent, both in terms of video feed integrity and app crashing. Specifically, I've only had the app lock up once and that was associated with the change to firmware 1.3.2. The developer/tester group is...

    Litchi help

It senses the USB connection, and somehow you have selected Litchi as the default app for this connection. If you go to preferences, you can deselect Litchi as default. Then start the rc and it will ask whether you want Litchi or GO. Then choose, but always select the just once option. I'm...

    New P3P Owner Advice Needed

I have headless mode on my little syma. In some ways the headless mode is very easy to fly, but a little weird for me. I generally fly quads in mode 2, either by sight of fpv. You will like the little quad.

    Altitude issue

Yes, my wording is not correct. If you fly at constant barometric pressure towards a mountain the vertical distance to a hard landing decreases. All joking aside, if the term for height above launch is altitude, was is the correct term for the vertical distance to ground? Thanks!

Thankyou DJI for bricking my Phantom with this stupid update

To some extent, it doesn't matter to me what tablet DJI said worked. I just looked at the approved list and bought one (in my case, the Nexus 7 II). It has been buggy as could be. If DJI had just said "buy a Apple Air 2" and that had functioned super, I'd be a happy camper.
