I've flown to Kauai via Honolulu.... no problems at all. I had my phantom in a thinktank heliport bag and my batteries in thier own fire proof bags in the back pack. All was good.....

The best way I know how to discharge a battery is to pop it in the drone and fly it till 50%. Unless you buy that dji battery charger/discharger.

Ah i stand corrected. I have heard them called both but anywhoo... i personally don't use them. Usually i land somewhere flat so the camera doesn't hit anyting... if i can't land somewhere flat i just hand catch it.

I think if dji didn't want you to use them, they wouldn't ship it with one. I think it's good to use so the gimble doesn't flop around and get damaged. Sent from my iPhone using PhantomPilots

Coz, a timed shot will just take a still. But the gesture mode, if you make a box signal with your hands it will take a dronie... which is recording a video of you while flying away....... Thats cool.
