I "locked down" my P2V+ firmware version last summer/fall - I don't have the version info handy, but it was the release prior to a significant DJI release that included a new DJI battery firmware update.
If I purchase new batteries from DJI, will they be backwards compatible with my older P2V+...
Re: UNOFFICIAL Vision App for Android (Distance, Speed, etc)
I've flown many extended range autonomous missions and I have full confidence in GS; however, autonomous flight requires good satellite coverage. I would never initiate a GS flight without having at least 2 extra satellites (8). I...
Re: UNOFFICIAL Vision App for Android (Distance, Speed, etc)
This is especially an issue for extended range flights, since battery is the limiting resource. I just completed a 3 mile round trip mission yesterday with 30% battery left at landing (10% margin before auto-land kicked in).
My...
The new DJI Vision App has a mode where the current location from your GPS enabled smartphone is sent to the phantom every 2 seconds as the new home point.
I agree on both accounts - both impressive and nerve racking. I particularly like flight plans where the phantom is sent off in one direction (north, for example) and it returns from another direction (west or even south, for example).
Go for it! But have it be a future goal and plan ahead. Start off with a ground station mission over dry land to get comfortable with it, then maybe do a limited trial run using the triangle on your map from the mainland, to the island and back. If the winds are too strong, scrub the mission. I...
Sure - I use an iPhone, an iPad or an android tablet based on the mission (typically use the iPad/android tablet for ground station missions). For the iPad, simply select your phantom Wi-Fi from Settings->Wi-Fi, then go to your DJI Vision app.
This just came up in another active thread - The "too warm" message is always output. Just ignore the message and advanced calibration should complete within 10 minutes.
Not to worry - That message is always output during IMU advanced callibration. It's a known issue that should just be ignored, and the advanced callibration should complete within 10 minutes. It's even noted during the following Phantom 2 Vision+ Assistant tutorial...
I do, but it's just mounted with Velcro. You have a good point thought - I suppose I could rotate it 90 degrees to allow for quick release of the battery.
