Anyone else thought about building one from scratch, I have priced up some parts and even using the nasa as a flight controller its not that that bad priced. Wouldn't have a nice case like a DJI phantom etc but would do everything else

hmmm I sent mine up as far as it would go once, thing came back and landed its self, didnt have any control of it at all. Let us know how you get on with your test. I am not sure the standard receiver can go 2000 meters is it not about 800m ?? so when it hits 800m it goes into fail safe??

I have done the antenna mod, only the 4 screws held my FC40 controller together

Evening all Got a noob question, I have modded my fc40 controler to use different antennas, I keep seeing 5.8GHz circular polarized antennas being sold in 2's TX RX??? I take it using this I would been to add one to my FC40 as well as remote?? Sorry if this is a stupid question, just getting...

Used it with a tplink antenna but not pushed it to its full range, waiting on a flytrex so I can record better data, ordered a few different antennas to test as well
