@Mykebytes
Agree. I'm just glad we have the internet, otherwise I would have had a very depressing weekend with no flying.
On a lighter note, I flew for about 15 minutes after my last post and so far everything looks good. Very stable. Gimbal is nice and level, no legs in the shots
It may take a few years to get the relevant laws passed, but this seems to me to be the beginning of a period where we will see more and more restrictions on where we can fly drones.
I am getting more and more nervous while out flying mine that it's actually putting me off the hobby all...
@Mykebytes
I think we were typing at the same time. I assume the gimbal has some kind of "safety cut off" ? and the crazy behaviour tripped yours ? Is that what the tweezer trick resets I wonder ?
Grrr...... I'm having the same issue
Disconnecting iOSD at the CAN connector before power up, then reconnecting does work, but what a royal PITA.
At least I can fly today....... I mean, what could possibly go wrong........ judging by the quality of the software testing done before they...
With the phantom (not the controller) connected to your computer, load the assistant software.
Go to the controller tab. Click to do calibration.
Even though it says on the screen NOT to move X1 (The gimbal control arm on the back), move it through its full range.
Once you have done that...
Very useful thread.
Is there any visual confirmation from the Phantom that either the CL orientation or the Home position has been changed ? Do you get any special light sequence ?
@TexasHighDef
I did the same thing. Took to the skies with the 3D last night for the first time and was super impressed with the footage. I am not getting any jello, any pieces of the landing gear in the frame, and no funny noises or twitches.
I was concerned about the potential to mess up the...
Thank you sir! Thats what I wanted to hear. I was completely happy with my 2D, but now I've seen 3D footage I've started to notice that my 2D does track left and right a bit when going straight, and especially when going straight up......and my stuff looks amateur now, aargh!
So.... I want to upgrade from my existing 2D to the 3D. I have an old P2 so I know I have to either modify the frame or rig an adaptor plate. I can handle that. The concern I have is with the flimsy ribbon cable on the 3D V1.1
As I already have 2D, has anyone thought about taking the mounting...
Yep, I'm with Madwak. It looks like the controller is in Mode 1. Try pushing the right hand stick up.
I changed mine to Mode 1 because for some reason I thought that was the standard (1 being the smallest number after all) and I had the same issue.
I think you still need to solder wires with the AVL58. The link in your post shows the unit and the ribbon cable it comes with....... the ribbon cable has bare ends.
The "FPV" cable that comes out of the phantom does not have a connector on it, so whatever you do with that cable you are going...
I'm with Ian. I used 2 full batteries yesterday just trying to fly round and round a big tree out of line of sight and keep the speed and panning constant. In short, I suck at it, but I guess it's like golf......... you hate it but you want to keep practicing.
Those videos are amazing. You...
