With a dbsmod antenna I pushed as far out as 20,000 feet on a stock battery and came home on the wings of angels. IMHO you're good for 15k without upper level winds against you.

Yes I had quite a tailwind as I approached the harbour where the sea breeze is strong. I quickly spun around as I knew I would have to fight it on the way back.
My fix was to loosen the set screw on the gimbal arm and slide the whole thing down 1mm so that the gimbal arm at the top stopped touching the body of the bird. As it was touching due to the crash the motor vibration was transfered directly to the camera. Solution #2.

Mine fell 20feet onto concrete. Several errors. It wouldn't even boot up. Soldered the black box back in place which completely broke loose and solved the data error by changing the SD card. Perfect now. Ordered online just in case I couldn't fix it.
