did anyone else think this was stupid

So, if you just pull the left stick down and hold it to shut off the motors, what keeps the motors from shutting while on a fast descent? I routinely pull the left stick all the way down in flight to drop altitude fast, (but not, of course, when I'm anywhere near the ground because I know I'm...

    A different kind of crash

Exactly what happened to me. But I recovered mine the next day. Cause: Bad solder joint. More details here: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=14282

    Motor life expectancy

I have virtually no experience with any kind of RC motors, but with electric motors in general, they tend to get noisy as a first sign of failure. So, if any of my phantom motors started to make unusual noises, I'd replace it, if not all four. Since my last phantom tumbled out of the sky from...

    Brand new P2v won't fly!

Thanks Emc... I'm going to test the camera if I do anything other than send it back. So many reports of focus problems and dead pixels. I shouldn't have to use Assistant to recalibrate just in order to get it to fly for the first time.

Crash from 200 feet - solder joint failure

ron1969 -- your right to not want to fly over water or people. You rock dude! Have fun and be safe! update on my story: B&H replaced my P2V. Awesome! Sadly, the unit they sent me doesn't fly. DJI quality control is to blame -- not B&H. B&H has been awesome. My story continues...

    Brand new P2v won't fly!

I love B&H photo... I've probably spend $50,000 there over the last 10 years, so maybe they love me too. My wife bought me a P2V for Christmas. It was sooooo cool! I loved everything about it but the camera. The camera had lots and lots of dead pixels. So I returned it and B&H shipped me a...

Crash from 200 feet - solder joint failure

status update: I called B&H late last week and told the guy on the phone (Saul) my story. My P2v tumbled out of the sky, in my opinion (thanks to you guys) due to a failed solder joint. He said to send it in... and they would send it to DJI for repairs. I sent it in on Monday of this week...

    something weird

My first P2V was returned due to bad pixels in the camera. I assume B&H (my dealer) sent it back DJI. So what did DJI do with it? Replace the camera, clean it up and resell it as new? I have no idea. I'm not accusing anyone of anything. But I've never seem them offer 'refurbished'...

Crash from 200 feet - solder joint failure

Re: Crash from 200 feet So how do you non-destructively test the other joints? I don't fly over people, but there are many that do. I question the airworthyness of these machines if they are so prone to this failure. Also, they don't fall straight down... so even if the machine was not...

    something weird

I'm sending my P2V back B&H today for repair... they are going to send it to DJI. I have absolutely no idea how long it will take. My just tumbled out of the sky from 200 feet due to a faulty solder joint. B&H told me that these things have a 1 year warrantee for that kind of thing...

Crash from 200 feet - solder joint failure

Re: Crash from 200 feet So far no reply from DJI or B&H (my dealer). Ugh. Frustrating. I'm hesitant to buy another if there is no post-sales service.

Crash from 200 feet - solder joint failure

Re: Crash from 200 feet Hmmm.. this isn't good. Called DJI today.. ended up on permahold. Posted problem on their web form. No reply. However, the web form said to go to my dealer first. So I tried that. (B&H). Crickets so far.

Re: Crash from 200 feet Thanks guys... I'll try calling them tomorrow. Here are the other three connections.

Crash from 200 feet - solder joint failure

My P2v tumbled from the sky on an otherwise uneventful flight -- except for a bit of a wind. The camera is wrecked and one arm gets no power for lights or motor. The other three arms seem to work fine. I think I know why it crashed.. the power lead came loose from the central board. See...

    Fatshark wiring for P2V

My problme is that I just cant see my iphone well in the bright light condtions that the Vision likes. So I was thingking the same thing - take and output from the iphone and feed it to the goggles. I'm not sure how you'd work the controls on the phone, howver.
