We hope to fly again at Nissequogue River State Park/Kings Park Psych Center in the upcoming weeks.

Smooth control for videos. What's with 125%?

Or a better remote... and just so you know, by "first *few* flights", I am defining "few" as a pretty decent number. It took me a while, and most of my early flights were learning flights. ;)

Cannot Get Quad To Finish Calibration Or Start Motors...

I've had upwards of 30-40 seconds on occasion - once it took a little over a minute (surroundings blocking some GPS signals, took a while to get a good enough lock). It seems like forever when you're staring at the yellow lights.

    Binding tx to quad. question

Bound at factory, and though you can re-bind them, from what I've seen, it requires taking the shell off to hit the little button. On the Phantom 2's, it's an underside lit button. You will find Phantom 1 instructions here: http://wiki.dji.com/en/index.php/Phanto ... d_Receiver With little...

Smooth control for videos. What's with 125%?

I find 125% fine. But it took a little practice - my first few flights were really jerky. I've managed slow or fast turns and maneuvers at 125%. A better transmitter will also make it easier without having to sacrifice performance/capabilities (though, they cost a pretty penny).

    Painting Propeller Tips Red

I'm going for "glow in the dark" on my next dye job. I will let everyone know how it turns out.

    Painting Propeller Tips Red

I've found a massive selection of RIT dyes on Amazon, many available with Prime shipping, and many liquid. But the "tie dye" colors seem a lot more interesting because they're usually a lot more vibrant. Great idea! :)

    Received my Limefuel Battery today

Well, besides Limefuel claiming they've modified the battery to work with all Phantom 2 firmwares, their customer service through this all seems to be stellar whenever anyone contacted them. Read the reviews here: http://www.amazon.com/Limefuel-Replacem ... 00OM7BT70/

    DIY: Custom Prop Colors

Hello all, I figured I'd share a little tip for everyone who wants custom color props. This may especially come in handy for those with 9450 props (that apparently only come in white at the moment). It's very simple to change your prop colors to a variety of different colors (though not to...

New here and thinking about Phantom 2

I suspect they've made some changes. For one, as I noted above, mine have stranded wires (your didn't?). That'd mean at some point, they changed something. Mine has really cheap insulation - not even strong enough to survive normal soldering (and I do board level soldering, among other things...

    Received my Limefuel Battery today

That's because, per the pre-order page, it doesn't ship out until this month (I think late this month). :D :D :D Per Amazon, "This item will be released on January 31, 2015." I suspect our orders (I ordered two) will be around the same time frame.

New here and thinking about Phantom 2

Weird, mine are stranded. Yes. The wires get warm (or even hot). The insulation is cheap and thin. If the insulation melts on one wire that's touching the board, it will cause a short, ESC damage and failure, and so on. If the insulation melts on two wires (that aren't touching the board), it...

New here and thinking about Phantom 2

I think you are confusing me with someone else. I have a Phantom 2 I bought a while ago. I just upgraded the motors and ESCs. The wire gauge IS way too thin. DJI may try to dispute that for ages - or they may not, but the simple fact is, the gauge is too thin. Anyway, since I already upgraded...

New here and thinking about Phantom 2

On the V2.2 ones with the upgraded motors. It won't be the easiest of tasks - you need to splice in thicker wire as close to the motors as possible, and connect THAT to the ESCs. You should be good at wire splicing and soldering. You can use good quality shrink tube to cover the connection...

    Received my Limefuel Battery today

I ordered two. Which is a good thing, because, "oddly", the batteries I am having problems with are the DJI ones. :( I already have one of their 5400's. :)
