Birds love to attack phantoms. Mine got swarmed by little birds when I took this (me standing by the blue bug):
I brought it back as fast as I could, moved to another location and they seemed to leave me alone. Was probably too close to a nesting area.
That sounds like an awesome place to record. I think if you stay low enough for VPS to be active you should be ok. Unless the 500' is down then I would go for some prop guards at least but I hear even adding those changes how they fly.
If it's any consolation you might be able to sell the controller to help fund a replacement. DJI is selling them for $590. If you got $500 out of it that would be half the cost of an Advanced. I dropped and nearly broke mine the other day so I am sure there are people out there who need one.
Yeah what ^^ said.. I like the extra resolution you get from 4k so I can crop a bit and still get a good 1080 video. Plus I plan on having this P3 long enough that I will end up getting a 4k monitor.
You could try an inverter but get a beefy one. I have a 700w one that works but only when connected with alligator clips directly to the battery. Any less and trying to connect through the cars cigarette lighter fails for me.
Very cool and good news about the lag or lack of.. At least there is an option for impatient IOS users (I would be if I didn't have droid devices). I am considering getting one as a backup they are so cheap

I did the same. I cancelled my order with B&H to go with Advexure and I have yet to see anyone post B&H has shipped anything.
