I dont think that dealer is an authorized DJI dealer because if they were, DJI wouldnt let them sell for less than the MSRP of $1499 They might be refurbed, or something else. Usually if a deal look too good to be true, it usually is.

Was it new or a refurb? In either case, if I got a "motor obstructed" message on a brand new machine, it would be going back to them asap for a refund and I would buy a new one straight from DJI. I hope they have a return policy.

I think these batteries are more tolerant to the cold than to the hot. If they get too hot and overcharged, they tend to puff. But I have left many a Phantom battery in my frozen car and never had one puff or seem to lose any performance. You can try it and see what kind of flight time you get...
