Phantom 4 Pro V2.0 Is Back In Stock!

Oh no it’s not! DJI must have found three in a forgotten storeroom because within 4 hours of receiving the notification, they are out of stock! What a joke.

    Gimbal direction slightly off ??

DJI recommend doing the gimbal calibration with the drone on its rear - that is with the camera pointer to the sky. The drone must be exactly 90 years degrees so you might need some packing. My P4P always was angled slightly to the left which was a pain when trying to go in a straight line in a...

    GIMBAL OF P4P+ NOT CENTERING

Have you tried doing a gimbal calibration with the drone on its back - that is with the drone resting on its two rear motors and the camera facing the sky. You’ll need to support the legs with some books to make sure that it is 90 degrees from normal. Then do a full calibration. Worked a treat...

P4P I experience a bit of a problem when flying.

And the day you accidentally hit a branch or unseen powerline, you’ll be wishing you had sensors!

Phantom 4 Battery Issues - Customer Service

Me thinks all of this is irrelevant seeing as how you can’t buy one for love nor money! You’d think DJI would be keen to make their ungodly profits from the sale of Phantom batteries but no, they are unobtainable! Blast them....

    Smooth panning.

I have found that rotating for 360s is always better when having some slow forward movement. Trying to do it when stationary is trickier and the Phantom seems to speed up and slow down by itself probably caused by wind. I just solved the problem, by accident, by moving forward slowly and the...

    Smooth panning.

Adjust your expo way down and don’t rotate when stationary. Always have some forward movement as you rotate and you’ll get great results. But the expo is is the vital adjustment.

Battery Expansion & Ejection (Puffing / Swelling)

If the battery had expanded, there is no way it would have ejected! Quite the opposite. He would have had difficulty removing the battery as they are a close fit anyway.

    Which Firmware??

I would update to the latest version. Have had no problems with any updates. In fact the reverse is true. The P4P has only got better!

    Phantom 4p camera zoom

If you’re filming in 4K, then you have the ability to crop the video in post to simulate zoom using the Ken Burns effect. It’s very neat and effective. You can crop to one quarter of the frame and still have 1080 quality.

Sync Video Via DJI Go 4 App

You don’t say what phone you have but if it’s an iPhone just airdrop your video from your iPad to the iPhone. Takes just a few seconds. Just remember that the files could be huge - gigabytes - unless you have reduced them somehow.

FAA rules that make no sense. Post your opinion.

That’s great to hear that in reality, the licensing regs are not onerous - not that you’d get that from those who whine about everything! I’m not sure you’re correct though when it comes to geofencing. By mistake I flew in our major airport’s airspace and there wasn’t a problem. Not until I...

Trying to Fly Under a TFR

I obviously wasn’t referring to the FAA’s role in aircraft safety. They are internationally recognised as leaders in this area. I was commenting on the mishmash of rules that seem to be causing such angst for unmanned vehicles of all sorts. There doesn’t seem to be any coordination of policies...

FAA rules that make no sense. Post your opinion.

It seems to me from all that I’ve read that you face overbearing licensing regulations, no fly zones etc etc. All I see are folk complaining about the rules and regs. I’ve seen your maps that come up in the Go app and they are crazy! There seem to be arguments galore about who has authority -...
