I think the reason your charger kept shutting off is that it could sense that the RC battery was fully charged. That is the "normal" end of the charge reaction of the charger. Faulty led on the RC is what I think is the issue.

Can the marks be cleaned off with a cloth dampened with alcohol or cleaning solution? If so, it might just be tiny bits of wear from the motor bearings being attracted to the blades by static electricity ..... generated by the flex point of the plastic prop near the hub.

The Tesla gurus say for the longest battery life keep the charge between 20% and 80%. Those are lithium-ion batteries.....ours are lithium-polymer but the 20%-80% might also apply favorably to us. I've always been cautioned to only fly when battery is charged to 100% .....even topping it off...
