Finally manage to get my replacement P3P on Friday and couldn't wait to take it up. This is my second flight and took off beginners mode on my first flight. Had a few runs on the simulator prior to that to ensure I got familiar with the controls.
There is still that element of fear when flying...

Fantastic tips folks. Thanks very much for sharing it. I will definitely remember this once I get my P3P back from the dealer. Unfortunately the firmware upgrade didn't go so well on the RC. Wished I just started flying it without trying the firmware upgrade now. [emoji17]

Wow it required changing the firmware on the iPhone? Seems a little drastic to upgrade the RC firmware. Glad that you managed to sort it out in the end though.
A firmware update really shouldn't need to be this cumbersome. Here's hoping I can get some air time next week. [emoji120]

Looks like I won't be flying any time soon after purchasing a new P3P from the local DJI dealer. After unboxing the brand new AC, I proceeded to do the firmware upgrade (version 1.8.80) after charging both the RC and battery earlier in the day.

Please share them out if you do.

Sorry i didnt quite understand why its better taking off from the case? I do notice pilots do that alot in the YouTube videos but didnt realize there was an advantage of doing this?

Thanks. I definitely will be. There are nearby neighbourhoods that I find quite stunning just looking at it as they are lifestyle blocks nicely embedded on a hill side. Their neighbours are a few acres away. Really looking forward to posting more photos of the real middle earth. [emoji6]
I currently have an old IPad 3 and using an iPhone 6 so am planning to use those. From some of the research I've done, it looks like ios operates better as certain Android devices like the Nexus tablets has proven problematic. Which one do you use?
Folks, thanks very much for that wake up response. My fear is having the engine cut out during mid flight and hurting a person in the process. I have decided however to proceed with the purchase of a P3P as i just cant let my phobia get the better of me.

Hey folks!
I recently joined this forum and posted an introductory thread here.
I will skip straight to the point. I've been spending most of the month of April / May researching up on the P3P and what's involved in getting into this hobby. eg: P3P user manual, repair support services, local...
