Just use one of these: Meet Nest Cam
I've got a Dropcam looking out our window. And $200 is MUCH cheaper than losing a Phantom because the cage didn't open all the way before takeoff.
Thanks! My original plan was to take off and land at docks along the way ... but there was plenty of room in the bow of the boat to take off, so I ended up doing that instead. Whenever I brought it back to swap batteries, a buddy of mine stood in the front and caught it by hand. We never really...
I've heard of all the horror stories from taking your Phantom out on the water. But since we were on the river in Portland, I finally got the balls to just do it. My friend's son works at a boat store, so we took out a brand new Nautique and hit the waves. This is one of my first videos that's...
Great info! I was debating about simply upgrading my iPhone 6 to the 6-plus, but I can trade in my bigger iPad to Best Buy for a $130 credit -- I've already got a $100 gift card so I'm down to just about $100 out of pocket. I think I'll snag the mini 2 tomorrow! Thanks for the help.
Thanks. That makes sense about the APP. Will a wifi-only iPad work or is the cellular-based version recommended? My main concern is that some places I fly don't even have a cell signal.
I've seen a lot of comments about people using the iPad Mini as their FPV solution. Is this the best way to go? Currently I have a full-sized 4th Gen iPad and was wondering if anyone's used the larger iPad attached to the remote.
I'm selling my P2 setup and picking up the P3 this week. I've...
I still can't believe this thing has survived so long. There are easily a few falls from around 10-feet and 20-feet, respectively, that I didn't have recorded. I'm starting to think the blade guards might help -- turn this thing into a "bumper drone"!
The best fall I ever had was at least 20-30...
The worst thing that's happened from all of this is just a replacement battery.... and broken props... so many broken props!
The beach landing (starts at 0:32) wasn't my fault -- the battery was dying and I was lucky to not be over the water. Everything else, unfortunately, was straight user error.
Re: Phantom takes off and rises, but immediately comes back
Thanks for the battery tips. Oddly enough, even though it had three green lights indicating a mostly-charged battery while on the P2, once I plugged it into the wall it was immediately showed a drained battery. I let it fully charge...
Last week I hit a tree branch 10-feet off the ground and came down hard. Nothing appeared damaged, but one of the propellers did NOT want to unscrew. I was able to remove it and the rotor still spins but with the SLIGHTEST little hiccup. I fired everything back up and was able to take off...
haha... I know this part (and Evilfurryone is correct: Meters / 3.28084 = feet). I was curious if it's possible for the iOSD Mini to simply display measurements in feet rather than meters.
Thanks for the clarification. I ended up getting everything setup thanks to a few videos found on the forum. So far it looks great, but I wanted to see if anyone knew about these issues:
1. Any way to convert Meters to Feet? I've bounced around a few sites and it appears there's no way to do...
I've sorted through these boards for a few weeks and finally came up with the following FPV setup for my P2. I'd love to hear any thoughts on potential upgrades or additional pieces, as well as share what I got in case any other people are looking for a similar setup (I spent hours trying to...
