Glad to see this thread is so alive and well! I solved my distance problems... It starts with a 'M', ends with a 'c' and has a 'v' in the middle :D
Even so, I am interested in trying this P3A/P antenna mod.
I have a Litchi mission which takes off from my culd de sac and flies around my house as a POI. I was flying this with the P3S. It was all going great until the last waypoint nearly gave me a heart attack. The last waypoint was supposed to descend to 9ft in the middle of the culd de sac....yeah...
I just picked up an iPad mini 4, so interested in this as well. By "force kill" do you mean the double press of the home key and swipe the app up and away? Or is there another way to kill an app that I don't know about?
I feel your pain. I recently had a crash that separated the camera gimbal and broke the ribbon cable. I replaced the cable (twice), the roll motor (which is where it separated) and the roll motor control board. I never got it to work right and have ordered the gimbal camera assembly. With...
Wow! This is incredible. Just confirmed that I cannot use 3.0.1 anymore. So let me size this up. DJI puts out a buggy version where some folks are getting fly aways due to DJI's incompetence. Yeah, we could argue that knowledgeable pilots would know how to cancel the RTH and take control, but...
The stock video antennae sit on either side of the battery compartment. To replace, you will need to open the shell and remove the main board, at least enough to move it out of the way. Some of us have decided to mount dipoles on the legs instead. Better antennae + easier to replace. Lots of...
Yeah, these are the ones I am using as well and can confirm the quality is good. As a newbie I like to be able to see where the nose is pointed and the red guards really help with that.
I seem to recall reading a thread here that the roll and pitch motors are identical except that the pitch motor has a longer shaft to attach it to the camera. Cut the shaft down to size and it should work.

Sorry, just slide the maps around with your finger to get more map area to load. All this gets cached and you will be able to continue to use the maps when offline (i.e. when connected to Phantom Wi-Fi.
I've seen the same. Disconnect from the phantom Wi-Fi and reconnect to your home Wi-Fi. When you go back into the app you will have maps. Scroll around to get android to cache your maps. Reconnect to the phantom Wi-Fi and, Bob's your uncle!
I have a cf gimbal guard and it did not save me in a crash. One of the motors separated and the ribbon cable tore. Depending on the angle and force of impact it may or may not help you. I'm still flying with it anyway because I think it makes sense.
Same for prop guards. They work well when...
