Anyone (else) doing Security patrols with sUAV?

What a cool job, I'm jealous. It seems natural to augment security with drones. One alternative would be a multitude of security cameras. I think that in London, there are so many that the majority of the city is covered. As long as they only use it to prevent criminal activity, I think it's...

Anyone (else) doing Security patrols with sUAV?

Great point. One key issue is whether the security surveillance needs to be covert, and if so, how critical that is. At 200' or so, depending on the ambient noise, and wind, a P4P won't attract that much attention, if any if there is some background noise. The operator can assist in the noise...

    First 5000ft plus flight!

I've noticed it with flights over the ocean, and attributed most of it to the water, figuring a ground plane was at work. But I didn't have a field out in the middle of nowhere with guaranteed no interference to compare it to. So I thought some of it could have been do to the clean RF...

    First 5000ft plus flight!

This is a shame. What was the price difference between the Standard, Advanced, and Pro? I guess, without reviewing it, it must have been considerable, or some people bought the standard, without knowing all the details. I've had two P3P's, and their max range has rivaled the P4, and my Mavic...

Never buy DJI drones - A nightmare with Phantom products

I have had two P3Ps that have operated flawlessly with hundreds of hours and many hours. I was flying one 20' above a road, hit a powerline, did a forward flip, recovered 3' off the pavement, and my love video feed came back and I flew it home. Damage, a little grease from the line on the...

    FAA Contacted Me

I posted a too cavalier response, and have to agree with you. I think starting the Class B airspace at say 200' in certain areas would solve the problem.

    FAA Contacted Me

In rural areas, if sparsely populated enough 0' AGL is legal with 500' separation from any structure, persons, or property. Helicopters can be 200' anywhere. In Class B airspace is it more likely. Maybe to keep them under fixed wing aircraft. I'd recommend not violating in Class B airspace...

    Rules on abandoned mansions

Yeah, and I'd also do the flight from a mile away, so nobody will see YOU flying the DRONE. Be careful. Don't crash on the property what ever you do. A mansion might trend to have a lot of property. Approach high, drop down to filming altitude right overhead, depart high. Use minimum power...

    FAA Contacted Me

There reasons are BS. I fly full sized aircraft. There is no way in HELL, a plane is going to be at 200' 2 miles from the airport. You got unlucky for sure, and your competitor who ratted you out would regret it. "Revenge is a dish best served cold." Wait so they don't know it was you.

    Unfortunately sad post again

I think the P3P has a higher bps video transfer rate for the live video feed. I just remember reading this a while ago.

Made a paid commercial for my youtube channel...

I thought it was awesome! I've come close to cell towers too, with no ill effects, if I didn't know that I'd he afraid of getting close, and circling level with it. RFI worries. Strong RF field that close. What freq do they use?
