DLOG is supposed to be more flat (aka "washed out") to give you more dynamic range. This is something you correct in post. That said, it could be enhanced by the filter as well. Best way to find out is to take some footage with and some without the filter and compare those.

A lot of it comes down to personal taste. I find all footage to be too sharp with default settings but there are other people that love it that way. And thanks for the feedback. I'll pass it on to the author so he can look at the article's layout.

Prices tend to drop daily. Just make sure to check the reviews so you're sure to have original DJI batteries and not aftermarket batteries. Those can stop working after firmware updates.
