Phantom 3 Standard range mod , let's do it together...

(Slightly OT because of other brand;) All this talk about different wifi tx power levels is interesting, with my now sold Parrot Bebop Drone 1 (fully wifi controlled) I had this logged during startup (In Sweden, which should require CE levels); Jan 1 00:00:08 (none) user.info...

    Quick test of 5.8 amp

    Yes you need a battery, I'm planning to use a 3S AR-drone battery. /Per

Interesting and keep us informed! I'm waiting for this to arrive: 5.8G 3W/4.5W Wireless AV Transmitter Signal Booster Amplifier Extender for FPV //Per

    Argtek mod... garbage?

By looking at various inside photos of antenna mods it seems that DBS took the proper path with a ground plane which I haven't seen on the others - yet... Ground planes helps with isolation and gain, Ground plane - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia //Per

If not already logged it could be interesting to keep track of link speeds during longer flights and log them to a file. The signal scores logged by DJI GO is only for 5.8 control or?

(Sorry for a quick barge in) Regarding this video latency, did you get any response in this matter? I also noticed a bit of this delay starting at apprx. 1200m. Think I've seen some thread discussing the limits of the Wifi protocol but also that the P3S handled that. Don't know for a fact...

Hello! It doesn't contain that but I'm grateful for your concern - it could have been an issue ;) (Have to admit though that the solution with the RC patching the drone via telnet is a more elegant solution than having (a simpler) watchlog.sh on both sides) Next step is increasing the power on...

I used the "shorter" watchlog.sh from papatita's "P3S_27dBm_Updater"-archive. That one only checks for local country changes which seems to happen with DJ GO...? Verified and found in the logs that it changes back to 27dBm (from 17) when recording home point. (On both RC and drone) Or am I...

Success! :) Just had a successful flight up to 1385m in FCC mode at 27dBm via the watchlog.sh mod on both RC and aircraft run from djiled.sh (both at 1.6.8 f/w). Video was smooth all the way. 5.8G with homemade windsurfer and 2.4G antennas of Alfa 8dBi panel directional type. Not sure if...

Yes that's sounds like it, wonder if there are any other "slumbering daemons" like telnetD waiting to be started ;)

Thank you :) Even if probably already investigated I was looking for other ways of communication between the RC and drone. Seems they were disabled in this case. Locked down. Really need to get home and continue to work with my P3S ;) //Per

Has anyone got output from both drone and RC with netstat -anp? (if netstat is available)

Ok, it seems that the P2V had SSH...going for connectbot and telnet then, it supports limited scripting...going to try your watchlog script though :) //Per

Hi all! This thread is amazing and kudos to everyone discovering and elaborating this little loop-hole :) Just hope it stays open ;) I've been thinking of another way of approaching this mod but don't have access to my P3S at the moment...does anyone know if there are any other open protocols...
