You'd need some form of mount to place the SJ4000 in so the gimbal could balance the camera correctly. If you do a search on eBay/Amazon for DJI Osmo Mobile GoPro mount you'll find plenty of options.
In theory you'd also need the DJI Phone Mount to be able to see what the camera is shooting...
Although the gimbal gives the impression the update has failed it appears to have installed. The quad appears to fly fine. Not fully checked the cables yet. If I spot anything I'll report back.
The response I got from DJI was:
Dear Paul,
Thank you for contacting DJI Technical Support.
After the "device not detected" message there are two sets of entries confirming the drone is on the latest version. However, you might be able to check the ribbon cable between the gimbal and the...
Ian, are we sure this isn't a hardware issue ? Having this problem with my P3A. If you take a look at the hidden logs it's showing a 'not detected' for one of the updates.

My original post was referring back to firmware upgrade 1.3.2 (pre IOC options) in August. I'd gone from 1.1.9 to 1.3.2 and got the solid red light on the gimbal / constant beep error. Seems that I'm still getting the same problem going from 1.3.2 to the latest IOC FW - 1.4.
If I leave the...
Just been flicking through the thread and reading the comments about waypoints. I can understand why they'd probably want you to fly a route prior for safety reasons, but what about the battery ? A typical battery is only going to last you about 16 minutes before it reaches its critical...
Oso mentioned something that would be great as part of a general app update. The ability to activate the annoying loud startup beeps as part of a tracker option would be a great simple idea.
Decided to bite the bullet and upgrade the Advance from 1.1.9 to the latest firmware.
Everything appeared to be going fine until the gimbal went solid red and gave out a continuous beep. On checking the log file it claimed that it had the latest firmware and gave a failed / abort error.
On...
