A question about hand catching the P3

Everyone should learn how to hand catch. If you are ever in a place where somebody has a dog loose, you are going to have to hand catch it just to keep the dog from grabbing it. That is what got me started on hand catching. When I was first getting started, I flew in a park, and when I came into...

A question about hand catching the P3

You guys are a bunch of wimps! I hand catch my P3 blind folded! I bring it 5 feet off the ground around 50 feet from me. I then hit full throttle forward and hand catch it blind folded as it flys past me at 35 mph! Once I catch it, I stop the propellers with my tongue! Piece of cake!

    Help with iPad selection

(a)I don't know about the sim card, I pay for my cell service for the iPad. (b) No, you can't reset the home point without a cellular iPad, but there is a work around by adding a Bad Elf Pro GPS adapter to a wifi only iPad. You will then be able to set a new home point, but you still have to...

    Help with iPad selection

With the cellular iPad, you can set a new home point, incase you move from your original location, because it has a built in GPS. Which is no big deal, if you are on the ground and only move a few feet, but it is a big deal if you are on a boat, and need to use return to home because you lost...

iPhone 6 less likely to overheat than an iPad Mini 2?

I live in Texas, and the iPhone 6+ and iPad mini 2 both over heat. I put a wet sponge behind them both and it helps to keep them cool. You just have to make sure you have them clamped on real good or they can pop off and drop on the ground since the wet sponge adds some thickness, but it works...

A question about hand catching the P3

It's real simple guys, if you think hand catching is too dangerous, don't do it. You probably squat to pee too, and have the zipper on the side of your pants instead of the front.;-)

CONFIRMED: WiFi Only iPad Air 2 CAN INDEED Reset Home Point to RC Transmitter Location

So what about the maps with these add on GPS devices? Do you have to cache the maps ahead of time? The advantage of a Cell iPad mini2 is that it downloads the maps automatically. So you can fly anywhere you want without preplanning since it downloads the maps wherever you are. Can these add on...

    Was the 4-F intentional???

I heard that if you use the same computer that you use to watch porn to download the latest firmware, that you will have firmware problems. That probably explains why so many people are having firmware problems.

    400 foot?

I would figure out a way to get up that mountain to look in that cave, just to make sure the Dutchman didn't hide his gold in there.

    People who say RTFM

Unless you got your P3 on the first week it was released, just about any question a noob can come up with, is either in the manual, on youtube, or on various forums. All it takes is a little work to find the answer to 90% of most problems. The problem is that some people are just not mechanical...

    Tablet cooling options

I use a damp sponge behind my iPhone and it helps a whole bunch. Without it, in the Texas heat, the display is just about unusable.

I shot this from Downtown Austin Texas with my P3P. I counted 8 other drones flying around there.

Advantages on the Phantom 3P over Inspire 1

If you crash a Phantom, you are only out about a thousand bucks, if you crash an Inspire, you are out about three thousand bucks. Double those totals if you decide to get another one. I'm not saying you are going to crash either one, but the possibility is there every time you take it up.

Flying at high altitudes and transport questions

I don't think the view is going to be that much different from 18,000 feet vs 18,400 feet.

P3P Instability Problems Clarified After 1.2.6 Update

There is always a possibility of a pipe buried in the ground that I don't know it's there. I normally take off from grass in parks. This last time I went out, I emptied my pockets of any metal, calibrated my compass on my phone and P3P. The red arrow pointed in the same direction as the camera...
