P3 Start Up Order - App Differences

I've had a P3Pro for a few months now and have not had a single problem up until I installed the Go App and associated firmware. Since then I have had random signal dropouts for both control and video at distances that had previously not been a problem. I also have the issue some others have...

    Flying in trees

I suspect I might have a lot more idea than you think. I have been a Controller for 35 years working in both towers and enroute, and have held a pilots licence. The Safe to Fly flyer is linked from CASA's website. Whether you like it or not, they are the regulatory authority. For what it's worth...

    Flying in trees

The Safe to Fly app or Flyer is linked from this CASA page: http://www.casa.gov.au/scripts/nc.dll?WCMS:STANDARD::pc=PC_100375 So I am taking it as gospel, although I did try to ring them today for clarification and was given a number to call which just goes to an answering machine. I left a...

    Flying in trees

Remember, its not the CBD, but the airports and helipads etc. But with Tullamarine, Essendon, Moorabin and the city heliports etc it does become difficult in a city. Basically if you can start your Phantom 3 then you should be able to operate below 400' given the firmwares inbuilt airport...

    Flying in trees

The regulations can't cover every circumstance, however if you can safely fly your aircraft within 500' of the ground, then you can follow the terrain on your flight path going up and down and left to right as required to avoid said terrain. So an aircraft could be flying down a narrow valley or...

    Flying in trees

I suspect the 400' is related to the fact that under CAR's (Civil Aviation Regulations) aircraft are not supposed to fly below 500' above ground level or 1000' above a built up area. That is 500' above the ground immediately below them. This obviously doesn't apply to aircraft close to an...

    Flying in trees

The 400' limit in Australia only applies to flight within controlled airspace. Download the CASA app called "Are You Safe to Fly your Drone?". It gives you the rules for Australia. Trust me , I'm an Air Traffic Controller!

A new firmware update is now available for Phantom 3

OK, tried all that, and the remote doesn't do anything when switched on with the jump drive inserted (with fresh .bin file). All other indications are that the update has taken OK, so I'll just have to wait and see when I get a chance to fly it next. Thanks.

A new firmware update is now available for Phantom 3

If that means a usb adaptor then yes.

A new firmware update is now available for Phantom 3

Is there supposed to be a text file indicating success or failure on the micro sd card after updating the controller? I updated the P3 Pro, which all went well and left the success text file on the card. I then deleted the text file and updated the controller, which also appears to have worked...
