I don't think you can do those type of shots with the P3 camera. You need full control over the aperture/shutter speed like you would have on a DSLR. Not to mention many times these kind of shots are taken on a tripod with no movement.
I also have a wifi only ipad air 2 but frequently use a hotspot from my galaxy note 4 to pull map data. It would be nice if the GPS information from my phone could also be relayed to the iPad somehow. I guess if I need the transmitter orientation or the dynamic home point so bad I could just use...

One of the first things I do when I get my bird in the air is get higher than everything else and set the RTH from there. Important setting.
I've finally joined this club and am happy to report no issues with my bird. Even though I'm running 1.2.6 and 1.2.0 on iOS 8.6 on an iPad Air 2. I've followed all the instructions to a tee, completed an IMU and I always do a compass calibration before flight. This little guy is SOLID! No cracks...
