That debug_fw file trick is key! Had a P3A with 1.11 on it and an RC with 1.9 on it. After a few hours, I now have 1.7.6 on the drone and 1.5.8 on the RC. No more weak controller signal issues! Thanks for documenting this, OP!
DJI has stopped supporting the Phantom 2 and its apps/firmware. As such they haven't maintained the compatible phone whitelists in the app stores, so even if the app would work on your phone, it's possible it doesn't show up in the Play App store. You can download the APK here and sideload it...
Chris, I think binding is your issue since you aren't seeing telemetry. If you still see "Phantom Connection Broken" error, then you should take care of binding first. Check out my small Binding Tutorial here:

Hi AndrewCCM and crash1sttime.
It's been another few months and unfortunately there is still no progress on fixing Blind/Blank FPV on the Phantom 2 Vision Basic (non-plus, egg camera) model :-/ A few other drone hackers have reached out to me and we've shared info but haven't been able to get...
Hi. Couple of thoughts here.
Hunch #1- cable damage. Any nicks in the ribbon cable? Does the video stream despite the thrashing?
Also, do an IMU calibration (with the camera unplugged). This is to address my Hunch #2 which is the IMU is off, after your crash and the camera is counteracting...
Hi. Paul is right. 90% of the modules I've repaired needed the NAND reflashed. To do this you have to disassemble the module and connect the bottom board to your PC via a USB TTL UART board. Check out my tutorial I made to help people solve this themselves:
DJI Phantom 2 Vision+ Plus Blank...
For those DIYer folks with Phantom 2 Vision+ Plus and no FPV (Blank Screen) issue, I hope my tutorial on wifi module NAND repair helps you: DJI Phantom 2 Vision+ Plus Blank Screen Corrupt NAND fix
Moose is correct. I tried to find appropriate connection points on the egg's boards, to no avail... couldn't find any resources online about repairing it either, unfortunately.
Thanks. I'm 0 for 2. I'll try this again when I have another defunct p3pro board.
Have anyone revived defunct p3std top gimbal boards yet? I have a few of those to try... I don't know which pins and it sounds like ambrella binaries would be the best bet since they don't have davinci hardware...
@quaddamage
Thanks for the tip. I checked that both bt00 and bt01 we're getting 3.3v and they were... Darn, guess thateans the pads aren't connected to the pins!
One last follow up: for the serial connection, I should be on the 368_u0_tx/rx pins correct?
@quaddamage
I'm attempting to repair the boot image on a p3pro top gimbal board as well. Your coverage of this and narrative has been helpful.
I get this response from the 368_u0 serial pins when booting up (below).
However, I am having trouble getting it into Boot flashing mode, aka to return...

Thanks for the great work on this so far. I've used Texas Instruments' tool to re-flash the ub1 and u-boot on a bunch of P2VP wifi video transmission modules and put together a tutorial to help others fix that common issue.
About 10% of the modules also suffer from...
Perza,
Again here, my hunch is it's a binding issue. See if you can see the mac address of the new module (when it's powered on in your bird) using a wifi scanner. Since the wifi module doesn't transmit a BSSID, you won't see it listed as an available network, but a wifi scanner will see mac...
Hi Perza,
Your log looks like mine when it's successful reflash. The errors you are seeing look like it’s retying to find the other parts of the system - which it can’t since the wifi board isn’t connected and the drone isn’t on.
It's all good, unless I'm missing some key point (please let me...
