Ahh yes, such is the ways of high technology......new today ancient tomorrow.....I still get good results with my "ancient"P3S????? Go figure??

How is the best way to convert a box or bag into a drone case??

I've tried this both ways, it's pretty hard to beat the "store bought" cases versus one made at home....It does pay to watch the prices and be ready to buy when the "iron is hot". I'm pretty happy with the aluminum case I bought ($80 Amazon) and everything fits in there just like it way made for...

Ha ha. You can actually buy this.

Ya know, I've been wearing vests like this for over 40 years as a land surveyor......usually just made me a better "target". Never slows down the stupid questions or posers....(hey, if my wife saw that fem referral, she'd call you out)

    First 5000ft plus flight!

Oh yes, that doen't mean I fly further than I can see it....But I do get good range. I'm not willing to lose my licences.......

    First 5000ft plus flight!

Try the Litchi app and modify your antennae. I can routinely go farther than I can safely see my P3S.

    Another update

Well, I thinks I'll just wait til' I get back to Texas before I try any new FW upgrades. My P3S flies just fine up here in Alaska. I can fly it as far as I dare.....very little interference. Sometimes it's just a little white speck way out on the horizon. FPV is a good thing when your aircraft...

So much for the battery myth !! Non DJI batterys

Nigel, If you put a non-STC'd (FAA authorized) non-OEM part on your Cessna or Piper aircraft, you would be in violation. If the aircraft was involved in an "incident" and that part was discovered in the investigation....well, all I can say is I wouldn't want to be that pilot (or his A&P mech)...

So much for the battery myth !! Non DJI batterys

Yes, considered as an "aircraft" here in US as well. (as they truly are). And here in the US (land of liability lawsuits) I can almost certainly guarantee that "the other side" will raise the issue and if you were using anything but OEM that WILL certainly not work in your favor....regardless of...

Droning could be considered Surveying . . at least in one state

Excuse me sir: You never communicated this? I stand corrected and wish you nothing but good tidings...I'm glad to acknowledge your responsible choice. Please...carry on....

Droning could be considered Surveying . . at least in one state

No, I think you are missing the point of my discussion. For instance.....ALL photogrammetric producers in the state of California are required to have an LS on staff.....there are others as well that require this. We surveyors have an old saying it goes...."Garbage in.....Garbage out". so if you...

Droning could be considered Surveying . . at least in one state

I would expect that kind of a reply from a non-professional providing professional services. But let me ask you a question.......OK, you do your thing, produce your orthos, generate point cloud, contour map.....and your client develops plans from your work. Now, he hires a REAL Land Surveyor...

DJI GO 4 Update 4.1.4 Android

CRAP!!! I just got my P3S unleased from the "porch chain" last night. I had to sync my data with DJI before the chain came off. I REALLY don't want anymore firmware "updates". (AUTEL ya'll should consider a "Trade-up" program for dissatisfied DJI owners for one of your drones)

I think you pretty much said it in your closing statement...... "you don't want to wind up in a legal battle trying to defend the results of your survey that someone used to build a subdivision on.." Key word being "SURVEY". I suggest NOT using the word "survey" or even reference.

I am registered in Alaska & Texas. I'd have to agree with with your N. Carolina board. If you are providing orthos, TIN's, contours, etc, which is information concerning the land that your client will rely upon to make business (I.e. "MONEY) decisions upon...., that is certainly "surveying" and...
