    Night flight- Edinburgh, Scotland.

Yeah... Be very careful, as you are probably just the wrong side of the law. Stay Safe!

    UK Drone laws

Just to clarify, 2 houses could be considered as a "congested area" within the rules. Certainly a small housing estate would be.

    UK Drone laws

It's quite simple, so here goes... Your flight must be safe. This means you should be able to see your quadcopter and be in control of it at all times. You must not fly over or within 150M of a congested area. This means anywhere where people live, are working or playing. You must not fly within...

Ireland follows United States with mandatory registration of drones

The Irish rules are not dissimilar to the UKs, with limits on flying over congested areas and out of site of the operator and with all sites conducted in a safe manner. Quite honestly, I never fly more than 300m away, as I cannot see the quad clearly at more than that distance. I would never...

AVL58 Only Good For About 20 Yards - Thoughts?

You will need to use a male antenna. There will be virtually no connection on a female antenna and you risk burning out the TX.

Boscam TS352 not working need help!

I would imagine the wires touched at some point and it has blown the protection inside the Phantom. Do you have a multimeter to check this? I would insulate the wires before connecting up. use some sleeving or worse case, insulating tape.

Was this movie clip filmed with a drone? Amelie (2001)

That will be a crane or jib shot. Looks like it was then digitally edited to remove the jib from the shot. Even now, you would use a jib for a shot like that. Drones are more used for inaccessible areas too high for a jib and too low for a helicopter. I watched a shoot for some opening...

    Highest power fpv transmitter

There is no point going for a really high powered TX. Better antennae will give more range and you won't drain the flight battery so quickly. 2W does not sound like a lot of draw on the battery, but the efficiency is only about 30%, so you are actually requiring up to nearly 1 amp to drive the...

Legal - Free Footage for church website

A slightly different church shoot... This was my first trip out with my P2 early last year.

    PAL in the UK

Depends on what you are intending to do with the footage. If your end goal is Youtube, then 30FPS (NTSC) is better, the same for anything PC based. PAL is more important if you intend to use footage for broadcast or burning to PAL DVDs.

London parks are no fly zones

Yep, not only are there park regulations and restricted flight zones covering most of London, but they come under the Congested Areas rules if you fly with a camera. You really cannot fly in Central London at all. Not a great place to own a drone!

UK - Drone owners will be forced to register devices on tracking database

The CAA said today that they have no current plans to change the rules, but will consider enforcing them more strictly if problems persist.

Wanting to add on thermal camera on to my p2 3.0

I just hope you have some serious money! You might be able to get a "toy" FLIR for a few hundred pounds, but a decent unit with 640 x 480 resolution, good quality visual and a data link is thousands, possibly tens of thousands!!

New phantom pilots, I have 2 problems

Can't help on the Wifi, as I have a P2 with analogue video link, but sounds like you have the compass dance wrong. I hold the Phantom flat level - in take off position, and turn my whole body through one and a half turns, then hold the ' bird with the top towards me - so the legs point away...

Would stopping the motor damage it?

Possibly, as the windings can be distorted by over torque. TBH, your issues are more likely due to the need to carry out a full IMU calibration following your mishap!
