    H.R.302, Section 349 (US)

As this is now passed, LOTS of variables have to be addressed by the 'Administrator'. Now comes the determination of recreational UAV flying as being within reach to the general public, or a more critically regulated activity that will push away the public. Here inlies the fate of an entire...

Couldn't help it... got a Spark.

Love flyin' my P3A, but there are times when the Phantom 3 is just too big, ominous, or obvious, not to mention prep time to to get that shot can be daunting at times. The Spark isn't wasn't bought to replace my Phantom 3, but it will be a great replacement when I'm on my motorcycle, or at...

    Help! Multiple Errors, No Crash

Lolz... Still around, but not flying much with a whole lots of other 'stuff' going on. This HAS affected my posting on forums as well... Glad you're keeping the Muppet's spirit alive!!

Recent change to WA State Park policy regarding UASs?

Just big brother making sure it keeps a tight leash on anything that might harm the fragile ecosystem... Unlike all the RVs running gen sets 12 hrs a day... Best way to find out if your opportunity exists is to call the Park Director and ask. I wouldn't go with a Park Ranger's word... Go...

IMU takes 5 min. to initialize

Quad copters need all four motors and props to stay in flight, one goes, the bird goes. Hex and octo copters can fly with a motor/prop off. Physics is physics... once one motor is lost, there's no way to counter the opposing props force. Shutting the opposite motor down would just disable...

    First Time Pilot

Be careful in the Orlando area. Lots of airports, lots of controlled airspace. Best to (as said above) get to less populated areas. It's also a good idea to pick something to photograph. This helps acclimate you to keeping the bird oriented, and understand just what you're supposed to be...

Going to use JUST litchi app, is this ok?

Yes, Litchi is very good for waypoint flying, and there's good reason that DJI does not use the base style utility to control the P3. DJI makes you fly the P3 to each waypoint because this is the only way to ensure there are no obstacles throughout the flight. In some circumstances, the DJI GO...

    Drones are annoying

I won't fly in my neighborhood, or over anyone else's neighborhood. I take the P3 to places that are 'scenic', and not in populated areas. I fly 3 sorties (3 batteries) and I rarely return, because I have pictures/video of it. I practice at a park that has about 6 soccer fields and 4 baseball...

What are best practices for safe flying?

Consider how many "Epic Fail" videos are on You Tube... Not for drones, for anything and everything. Fact is, there are lots of people in this world that choose to throw caution to the wind, not follow safety guidelines (in some instances they don't follow directions) and do crazy/stupid...

    Litchi app on Android

Your Your friend should should use Litchi's ability to automatically upload flights to Healthydrones.com. This would give him insight to any problems the P3A is having during its waypoint missions.

P3P in beginner mode, first flgiht

I never used beginner's mode either, but kept my first several flights below 150'. Most important thing to remember is to keep above all potential obstacles until you're more comfortable with the controls. It takes time to get coordinated with the controls. Be patient... and enjoy!

    Going on a trip...

Park Rangers will find you a lot easier with a UAV buzzing over your head... If they don't, people that don't like drones will gladly let them know where you are. Fines for flying drones in a national park can exceed $1,000, but fines are usually much less. I'm sure if you're disturbing...

    Flyaway in "Follow me" mode

Towers are bad... Problem with towers, and diagnosing the tower as the problem, is, was the tower transmitting at the time the error occurred? As I said earlier... It MIGHT be the cause, it might not. I would recommend staying away from them. BTW.... that tower could've interfered with the...

    Flyaway in "Follow me" mode

First thing I noticed is that huge tower off to the right (39 seconds in the clip)... I don't fly near any transmission towers, because they're transmitting signals that might interfere with your signal, the compass (yes, the compass) or the sensors used to control the Phantom 3. Those disks...

    Waypoint flight

Understand that GPS accuracy plays a big part in this. The RTH is usually only accurate to a 8-10 ft radius... so there will be variations in the flight path. For way point flying I use the Litchi App, and tweak the way points and altitudes, it's easier to edit flights with Litchi. You still...
