Spotted on tonight's BBC2 Africa the DJI Phantom

I've fitted those skids and don't have a problem with them. I shortened the feet which took some weight off. I cut the existing leg near to the compass and left that part of the leg in place so the compass has not moved. All works well and even done a RTH successfully to check all is ok.

If you're using the stock controller I fitted one of these to the front of the TX which worked fine. I've since upgraded to the Futaba T8J.

There is with the Futaba T8J, don't think so though with the stock controller

You'd be better upgrading the TX to Futaba T8J or similar

Before to took mine apart and realised all I needed to do was remove the plate I emailed Futaba and they said, and did, send me the parts to make the stick self center FOC. The parts needed are; HSP50105 SPRING HOOK HSP50120 SWING ARM HSP79832 SCREW 2X14 HSP67445 SPRING
