UAS "almost collides" with commercial airliner

Type doesn't really matter. There are YouTube videos showing people taking a Phantom over 2000 feet. Mike

UAS "almost collides" with commercial airliner

I looked through all the subjects and didn't see an existing thread on this... didn't want to be the idiot that creates a duplicate so I hope I'm not. Not sure the type of UAS: there's probably better info somewhere else but this is where I saw it: http://www.cnn.com/2014/05/09/travel/un ...

help, gimbal tilt function stopped working (used to work)

Re: help, gimbal tilt function stopped working (used to work It's possible that the crash pulled the F2 pins on the NAZA at an angle, breaking them up inside the NAZA. That's all I can think of as you've done everything else. I don't even know if you can open the NAZA to check the pin...

    Gimbal control from transmitter

Here are my settings which work. I think you definitely want pitch in the pitch parameter and not roll. Mike

60 Minutes - Drones featuring Colin Quinn DJI

I agree. People don't "fly" these things any more. They jerk them around, bounce their blades off the ground, cut crass upside down, see how close they can get to things without cutting them up, and they wonder why they have "mechanical failures". That "acrobatic flying" method looks pretty...

OK, try again. It said public but for some reason it didn't auto-publish. Never had that happen before: had to click "publish": http://youtu.be/W4eOfeQLwYo Mike

    Diagnosis Needed - See videos

OK, here's the stabilized video. I went light on the stabilization rather than trying to completely smooth it out because the more you try to stabilize, the more it crops the video: http://youtu.be/W4eOfeQLwYo I also added some music because I've found that prop noise only adds to the...

Crash landed! Please help identify problem w/ video SOLVED

Re: Crash landed! Please help identify problem w/ video Sometimes the problem is too much information! I spent days reading stuff here and on other forums and more days after I got it just setting things up, testing, running and rerunning flight checks, etc. and I can tell you it's not...

HELP please. Crash, now with constant beeps [solved]

Re: HELP please. Crash, now with constant beeps Only thing I can add is that motor twitching during beeps/sounds is normal: the motors are being used as "speakers" so the props can twitch a little when it's beeping. Mike

Lost but found "a leap of faith" thank you fellow posters!

Re: Lost but found "a leap of faith" thank you fellow poster My suggestion is know your options and set them up in the software. Be sure to turn on IOC so you have homelock. That way if you do know your height, you can just switch to HL and pull back on the right stick. Second (and failing...

Anyone else got a 'bad feeling' ?

One thing I learned working for the feds is that it takes them 18 months minimum to change anything such as rules and regulations. Probably right that we'll have plenty of flying time should we all need to take exams. ;) Mike

    This is creepy

Not sure how to take this video. Hopefully the pilot knew her. I also wonder how much the mood of the video would change if it had a soft classical piece playing instead of the "jaws theme". I bet it would change the whole mood. Mike

Crash landed! Please help identify problem w/ video SOLVED

Re: Crash landed! Please help identify problem w/ video Yeah I learned that too: you have to stay out of your own prop wash which is directly beneath you. If you move forward (you actually have to move at a decent clip if you're coming down quickly), the turbulence stays under and behind you...
