    Max altitude reduced

I was having the same problem, just stopping dead after about 30ft out with "maximum distance reached" or similar message. I think I even posted about it here. Then one day it just started flying normally again.

It just flew away! - <correction> it didn't fly away at all.

I agree about RTH in crowded areas. The best compromise is to take manual control when you have a clear view of the bird on the way back.

It just flew away! - <correction> it didn't fly away at all.

Whilst I can sympathise with you, having been the victim of a loss of video fee myself early on in my flying, I have to say that, putting a building between you and your Mavic was a pretty dumb thing to do. I'm not fully aware of the laws in your specific country, but here in the UK, we are...

Still on FW V01.10.0090 - should I upgrade

Thanks for all the replies. Yeah, she took off like a proud, white, square eagle with propellors instead of wings, struts instead of talons, and a camera instead of a beak. That was the good part. Then, no more than 30 seconds into my flight, a jumped up little nobody, who said he didn't...

Still on FW V01.10.0090 - should I upgrade

I'm happy enough to styay on the earlier firmware. But DJI Go is reporting both the bird and controller need updating. Is it still ok to fly?

Still on FW V01.10.0090 - should I upgrade

I haven't made the move to the latest FW (and possibly one before it?) from V01.10.0090, due to all the talk of crippling the flying experience. So is it ok to update now or should I stay where I am for the time being? Will any of the height and distance settings be capped until I update? I want...

    Incoming update

Funny, I was reading this article which says if we DON'T upgrade we will have our flying experience severely limited. It says "If you do not update the firmware on your drone to give DJI the information that it wants, the device will be restricted in the following fashion: Live camera streaming...

I'm going mountain flying tomorrow - any advice?

The weather here in Belfast has been fantastic the last few days, so tomorrow I'm taking my Pro up to the top of one of our local mountains, Black Mountain. I intend to fly the bird out off the mountain to get some sweeping shots, maybe tracking the wild ponies which live up there, and some...

    Limited distance restriction?

I awoke to apocalyptic weather conditions this morning so it may be a day or 3 before I can get flying again. One of the drawbacks of living on a small island in the upper northern hemisphere I suppose. Oops, there goes another cow past my bedroom window...

    Limited distance restriction?

I finally got out for around 90 minutes yesterday, before rain stopped play. But when I was in the air, I was getting distance restricted, maybe about 10 metres or so. I haven't got either beginner mode or distance restriction mode enabled. FW is up to date on bird, batteries and controller...

Recreational drone now illegal in most of Canada...

The US government introduced a law to prevent travellers from "certain countries" carrying "large electronic items" on flights. A few days later, the UK introduces the same law. And of course, the lunatic asylum which is the current Whitehouse Administration never "leaned" on the UK government...

Any chance of getting PhantomPilots lapel badges?

Any update on this guys? The lapel pin that is, not bags of milk, gravy on fries (ar a gravy chip as it's known in the UK. And gravy is a different creature altogether to what you yanks eat. Instead of it being a thick, pale, spotty, congealed mess, its a thick, dark congealed mess. Biscuits are...

Recommend a good quality sun hood

So spring is here and the thoughts of every red blooded male turn to... flying their uavs. But with the change of season comes more and brighter sunshine. And as our birds are controlled from objects which reflect this sunshine, sun blocking hoods are required to keep our expensive toys from...

P3 Firmware Dji go app now incompatible with the samsung S7 Edge

Go started crashing my phone as well a few weeks ago. The last time I tried it, it corrupted the software on my phone and I had to do a complete android reinstall. Luckily I had a backup of my software, but Go was uninstalled as soon as I had it up and running again. Thankfully it works with my...
