Warning - new scam targets drone operators

Just picked up a bagful of wallets to stuff into my pants. I'm on my way to your area now to investigate. Any suggestions as to the best locations in Green Bay to bait these perps?

Recreational drone now illegal in most of Canada...

Actually, no. See all of that area overlaid with the diagonal markings? That's for all of the helipads that exist in the area. The 5NM (9km) limit now applies to those things as well.

Litchi Waypoints smart RTH or Not

Litchi Waypoints smart RTH or Not

@Scomich - Don't apologize for starting something like this and especially for something that you actually didn't start. This subject was being discussed in another current thread and we simply hijacked your thread . It kinda started as a result of these anomalies occurring during a...

Litchi Waypoints smart RTH or Not

Thanks not necessary but appreciated. I'm rather concerned at the inconsistent results. Means that I simply don't know what to expect now. I usually run long Litchi missions and I normally have SmartRTH turned off anyway (never had a problem this way) but still...

Litchi Waypoints smart RTH or Not

Exactly. I would have slapped another battery into the bird and run the same test with controller on for the entire flight but it's threatening rain here. Also, sitting in the car watching the quad circle a sports field at 5mph for 23 minutes isn't terribly thrilling. Perhaps on the weekend...

Litchi Waypoints smart RTH or Not

Hi everybody, Just squeezed in the test mission mentioned in post #5 yesterday. Results were very different from my mission a couple of weeks ago. Also very different results from the 3 missions that Scomich referred to in post #7. This time, the bird initiated SmartRTH, climbed to RTH...

Litchi Waypoints smart RTH or Not

I have a 42 minute @5mph mission set up for this purpose. Just waiting for the weather to co-operate. High winds and rain at my location until at least Thursday.

Question re: Low battery RTH while flying Litchi waypoint mission

@DanMan32 - I was addressing smiller's 2nd paragraph. I believe he was wondering if there was possibly a difference in the behavior of SmartRTH when the controller was NOT connected, as some other functions are affected (and documented) such as gimbal pitch and speed. What I would like to test...

Question re: Low battery RTH while flying Litchi waypoint mission

Absolutely. Of course, one can always test this by switching off the controller to simulate a loss-of-signal situation. A controlled and predictable SmartRTH test. Perhaps I'll try this at some point. Set up another impossibly long waypoint mission but keep the waypoints close to home, then sit...

Question re: Low battery RTH while flying Litchi waypoint mission

For sure. Actually, I hadn't given the SmartRTH speed much thought at all. As for the altitude, I guess I just assumed that it would be the same as the regular RTH. It's been mentioned on here many times that SmartRTH is NOT the same as normal RTH and that's very clear to me now :coldsweat:

Question re: Low battery RTH while flying Litchi waypoint mission

Yeah...but keep in mind that, once the waypoint mission is uploaded to the craft, the app no longer has any input, particularly when the quad is out of range of the controller. 395' Yes, exactly. It was traveling at 23mph when it reestablished contact with the controller. Viewing the video...

Question re: Low battery RTH while flying Litchi waypoint mission

Greetings All, Just a couple of observations I made from a relatively recent waypoint mission of mine. The mission was impossibly long and SmartRTH was enabled. The vehicle returned safely to its start point with 13% power remaining. First, the cruising speed for the mission was set to a...

    Who's brave enough to test

Absolutely right. I was just trying to point out some benefit to having DJI GO installed aside from toggling Smart-RTH [grin]

    Who's brave enough to test

There are literally tens of thousands of different Android devices out there from hundreds of manufacturers. Each of these manufacturers has a different take on what Android should be on their devices. Samsung is notorious for altering Android to suit their vision of what Android should look...
