Aerial Freaks Cyclops Vision Brushless Gimbal

Don't think it's the same issue. With mine, when flying low and slow directly in front of me, I can see the gimbal (camera) shake, while the phantom remains (relatively) stable. Pretty sure mine is an issue with the gimbal. I did adjust my settings to those that Piranha originally posted, and...

I just put new props on, but no, I haven't checked balance. I will. I also happen to have a box of plugs. So I can definitely try that. Thanks

Aerial Freaks Cyclops Vision Brushless Gimbal

FINALLY got out for a real test today (as opposed to all the hand-held livingroom testing) and am happy and unhappy with the results. The stabilization worked perfectly, however I am getting a huge amount of jitter or vibration every few seconds. Wasn't very windy, probably 5kts or so, pretty...

Just FYI, when I was playing around with balancing mine (successfully, btw - almost perfect) I actually lowered the camera in a couple of ways. On the down bracket (the one which the top of mounts to the board) by the motor are two screws that can lower the motor about 1/4" - that alone made a...

I originally mounted it backwards originally, but after reading a post about it, I corrected it. I don't, however, see how that would make a difference from a *balance* standpoint (clearly it would in other regards) - as the balance, as I understand it, needs to be done at the mounts by each...

Not to get into the broken gimbal thread, but as this is about the cyclops, I hesitate creating a new thread. Balancing: I find that with the power off, my camera wants to flop over and invert itself. What I've read, you want it to basically stay wherever it is left. Has anyone balanced...

I believe the "Licensed" software is imbedded in the controller. It's what controls the gimbal, you don't download or install it...

    Night shots?

Apart from raising the sensitivity (ISO) if not already on auto, theres nothing else to do... But remember, high ISO also introduces noise, so be prepared for some post. Many image editor applications will have ISO noise reducing filters that can help.

Ok, well, once my adrenalin level stabilized, I thought about it. I reloaded a saved profile, shut off the motors, leveled it the best I could by hand, and ran an accelerometer and gyro calibration, and voila, its working again. I guess I should have done that before the panic post, so, sorry...

Aerial Freaks Cyclops Vision Brushless Gimbal

Excellent. My gimbal was working fine, on the ground and by hand (raining all week, so grounded). Got home today, and decided to fix what wasn't broken, and did the following. Reduced gimbal gain to 0 in the assistant software. No problem, still good. Installed and ran basecamp. Connected...

Aerial Freaks Cyclops Vision Brushless Gimbal

I was wondering about balance as well. A few videos I saw (different gimbals and/or platforms) show the camera should basically stay where left when moved, buy mine clearly wants to roll over upside down as well.

You can always plug the camera back in to the cable coming from the phantom as a test, bypassing the gimbal...

Yep, this seems to be a good deal. I am an ex-rotopixel wait lister, cancelled last month. Saw this thread last week, and with a "what the hell" ordered one on Thursday night. It arrived today, and about an hour later I'm hand flying around my apartment (rainy day here unfort) looking forward...

Charging the WIFI extender without a computer

A bit lighter then the helpful diehard idea, is a portable USB battery. I carry one so I can supplement charge if away from a wall charger (or a convenient car battery in my back pocket...) The one I own: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DVM ... UTF8&psc=1

P2V Recovered from a watery grave - now what?

It's more then likely totalled. However, you should soak it in fresh water, several times, with a final rinse with distiller water. You really want to get all the salt and debris out of it. I would put it in my oven at 125-150 degs F for a few hours, but I know my oven is precise, as I...
