Big Business drone delivery - effecting Recreational use of Drones

In a recent discussion about Amazon making deliveries with drones, one comment I found humorous but prophetic was “That will be like skeet shooting with prizes”.

Getting out of the hobby, haven't flown in almost 2 years.

    FAA Remote I.D.

My take on all this is I toss my Phantom 3 in the trash and call it a wash. Another win for Big Brother. It was fun while it lasted.

    Cell phone towers

I’ve flown very near radio towers with just about every imaginable frequency band active and never had a problem. The phantom is a great tool to document the elevation of antennas and dishes.

They're 180 amp hour agm batteries, weigh about 130 pounds each. It's good to be in the telecom industry and the beneficiary of "scraps" thrown on the ground. I have the system set up to automatically transfer in case of a power outage. It carries two deep freezers, the fridge, the tv, and some...

In the "tinker" category, I'm in to solar power and built a battery backup system that runs the essentials for a few days without the grid. The panels on the roof supply an average of 1200 kWh per month and supply 100% of my power with a respectable surplus the local power company buys from me...
