I'm thinking that the microwave dish may knock out the GPS, since GPS signals are also in the Ghz ranges. But if the craft goes into atti mode and drifts, it will likely go out of the 'beam' and regain the GPS signal, I would hope. If it didn't drift right into the dish tower, that is. This...
So I am interested in waypoint/GS flying up near a tower on a peak that has inside a powerful cold war air raid siren. The tower, which looks like a forest service lookout, now has a few microwave relay dishes on it. The type that the phone companies use. Hence my concerns.
First question: If...
"drones" are closer to firearms that to ham radios. When there is an uptick on drone events that cause public concern, that is when the over eager politicians will step in. Drone events are more visible and news 'worthy'. Radio waves from ham radios would only cause public outcry when the...
It's probably going to be some amateur yahoo that will cause a problem not commercial operators.
DJI has sold 400,000 so far, and as most of you know, when there is a news event we are all watching for that white phantom quad. There will be a 'school yard shooting' event that will change the...
My search was particular to Hungary. they have decided to deviate from the rest of the E. U. . Searching for general " international travel" is worthless, if it won't include the key word "Hungary "because of the unique situation. So my search keyword was Hungary. Just hoping maybe somebody has...
thank you for the search link, however it only got my own question and two videos from a lake in Hungary. I'm still searching for recent practical information about the rules there. Thank you
I have flown a phantom in Budapest before, but that was a couple of years ago before the new rules.
I am traveling there this summer.Does anybody know how the current rules are working? I hear there are some rules where you can get permission but have to apply 3 weeks before.
Does anybody have...
Just wondering if VLOS includes usage of binoculars , etc ?
For example, if you have a spotter with some stabilized binoculars looking at your craft all the time ?
seems like the SD card would be the ideal place to store an entire no-fly zone map for the entire world. Plenty of space. I wonder if this is the case?
If I have the RTH altitude set at 30 but I'm flying at 100 when RTH activates will it stay at 100 as it precedes home or will it decend to 30 from where it is and then go home?
I am hoping it is smart and takes advantage of it's current safer/higher altitude and only decends lower when above home.
People seem to think that the 'gimbal guards' generate some kind of invisible force field. the fact is if Phanton crashes belly down the yolk that supports the camera can still break. The gimbal guard does nothing more than prevent motor separation which is only one cause of gimbal failure.
