DJI told me that P4 will not fit the DJI hard case. One of the videos (Canadian snow rescue) showed the guy pulling a P4 out of what looks like the DJI soft case though
Bum deal if true. (Which I'm thinking it is)
My Roomba has something they called "vSLAM® technology to create visual landmarks in its map so it doesn’t lose track of where it is or where its been" - Was hoping that the P4 could "remember" what it maps 50ft in front of it/60deg in front/30deg...
Just for background - I have a P3P and enjoy flying it "stick and rudder" - but sometimes I'd like to get ME in the shot with my kids or something like that, without having to worry about it crashing itself into a tree or something during an orbit
Under the same breath of asking "why did they bother releasing the Phantom 3 4K" - I'm wondering whether DJI did their P4 release with a few good additions and not a complete overhaul to try to beat competitors to the punch? I.e. Typhoon H.
Don't get me wrong - I like the anti collision and...
I'm thinking about buying it too - was hoping to wait and use points, but I was genuinely excited about the obstacle avoidance and "active track" feature. The case that does come with it looks like a styrafoam box - but the video with the dog sled shows the P4 coming out of what looks like the...
Very interesting example of GPS quickly degrading. I'll definitely have to check out GPS signal at the site the next time I have a chance.
With only the 1:45 mins of recording from the DJI App - the only way I'll really find out anything concrete would be if there was more than just telemetry...
I'll have to return to the site to see - but my first guess would be that it would not be the case.
From what I understand - the remote gives (more or less) off a linear signal - which is why DJI advises to have the unit aimed perpendicularly to the antennas on the remote - and be aware of...
Haha - on the one hand, I didn't want to add to the myriad of bad news found on this section of the forum. I've enjoyed flying it and to tell you the truth - I'm a "stick and rudder" guy, so I'd rather be flying it home rather than testing RTH out.
But if you're going skydiving, you'd want to...
Structural interference - was fading when I was landing. I thought I was close enough to the ground to complete the landing and shut down before total signal loss
Well, just an update - the .txt log from the DJI Go app doesn't tell me anything (No third party app used). Healthy Drones plots out the flight - it showed good signal all the way, with a 100 signal strength score; GPS was 15+ at the end. Notifications just shows the standard stuff for assisted...
Wasn't much on the app, but I just remembered there are flight logs on the P3P - gotta find an old netbook I can connect it to. Doesn't want to show me .Dat files on Mac
Here's a brain teaser for you:
Facts:
- Home point was set
- Flew to about 350m away
- At 350m away, I tried to land (controlled area with only family in the area)
- landing site is about (-)75ft AGL from home point (site is 75ft below home point elevation)
- lost RC and video signals just...
