The drone was long gone by the time I would have done that. To be honest, I'm surprised that it shows a second RTH press on the log. I'd only noticed the single press once I realized something wasn't right.

I definitely didn't switch the controller off until much later. As for the home button, I'm sure I pressed it several times once the drone was out of sight. Why? I didn't know what else to do.

It has, I completely agree. I'll upload my birds penultimate flight later on if I get the time - in its memory. BUT the best closure would be getting a reason for the fly away from DJI. I hope my dealer is able to get that info.

Thanks for the input. Clarify for me, why would a stable speed coupled with a stable altitude indicate that the done went down at that point? Please correct me if I'm not understanding your point. Regards

Sorry. I should qualify my statement. By the sounds of things I could have activated atti mode to stop my drone in its tracks at any point before I lost connection with it. In that situation, I'm not sure how well I could have guided the it back (it being more difficult) and it may have been...
