Full Phantom 2 Vision super plus kit installed on my UFO and tested so far 1000m horizontal distance + 750m high. Didn't lose connection yet.

I would fabricate external TX antenna that it can be secured on the car's roof! I can's see any other problem, but you have to be very experienced that you can fly it on that way.

Re: using ch 7 proportional control to trigger a camera shut Hi Martib! I am not sure that you can use that 7th channel for anything else than the gimbal tilt function as it is originally gain switch/potentiometer on board for fine gain adjusting with screw driver. Desoldering that...

Try to avoid flying overhead, that's the worst scenario... However, just bind the Phantom with a new transmitter.
