I'm also considering which FPV goggles to buy and am leaning towards DJI's which connect wirelessly to p4p and later DJI quads including the Mavic.
To the OP, if you haven't already, take a look at YouTube reviews of the DJI goggles being used with a Mavic or p4p. The point where you look...
From what I see in the manual I don't believe this is possible but I thought I'd ask.
Is there a way to stream video via the micro USB port from a 2nd camera mounted to a P4?
I'd like to stream it to the memory card and or be able to see it while using the DJI go app.

While flying yesterday in 35 deg F weather mine go blue would occasionally droop but it recovered each time after a few seconds.

I'm pretty much in the same boat as the OP. Very happy with the p4 performance while running old FW and the old DJI GO app that uses google maps.
My primary reason for not upgrading FW is that I'd expect at some point the FW will require the latest version of the GO app that does not use...
Max distance from the controller is so subjective to terrain and surrounding sources of interference it'd really be nice to line up a few configurations at the same launch are to see how they truly compare.
While flying with only wind surfers at home I can get over 12,000 feet in in one...
I fly over water quite a bit and agree with previous posts stating the pilot is most important. This doesn't only mean flying skills.
The Pilot also needs to understand the machine.
