I got fed up with limitations of the Phantom 2 transmitter and receiver, so I changed to a more capable Tx (FrSky Taranis). A new receiver was fitted to the Phantom 2, and is working fine. Now I was left with an old Tx and Rx -ideal for my 2 channel yacht, but I had to find out how to configure...
I'm configuring my Taranis to bind to my Phantom 2, but it could be any multicopter. What I scratch my head over is interpreting AETR (fixed wing originally I assume) for a multicopter.
I have in my head
Ch1 A (Roll - Sideways movement)
Ch2 E (Pitch - Forward/Backward movement))
Ch3...
Thank you for that help. One difference I found when trying to mount a Chinese gimbal is that the Naza Assistant software does not run on the Phantom 2, making gimbal hookup harder for this newbee.
Being relatively new, I struggle to understand many references tossed out without historic reference. For example is there a progression between Naza M flight controller and the Phantom flight controller - both branded DJI - or are they very different animals? I tried to run Naza Software...
No luck I'm afraid. I have the kit (oscilloscope) to look for signals on the cable.
What I found was a train of pulses on the first two conductors at one side (others will be video and audio). I could see no obvious change to either signal as I moved the pitch level on the Tx.
Perhaps DJI have...
Just re-read your post. I take it you are not using a GoPro camera? If not then you may have noticed my mentioning that the pitch signal has been embedded in the ribbon cable to the GoPro (well it goes first through some little "filter board"). It struck me that if you can determine which signal...
I am wondering if you have got any further with port F2?
DJI European Support stone walled me when I asked how to activate this port. They are determined you should be using their zenmuse gimbal, and have built in the pitch signal to the Zenmuse (grey) cable. My supplier told me when I damaged...
