Great reading on the mods for the H3 3D gimbal mount. Thanks for all the work you guys put in. Can't wait to get mine in. Had to throw a note in here....didn't know how to tag the thread for future reference otherwise!! :D

No one there at B&H today that knows why it was pulled! They suggested calling back tomorrow to see any information was available!

I think ianwood said his had the side connector. That's interesting that they had both styles in the shipments they had for sale at B&H! I guess I should have sprung for 2 day shipping instead of free. I'll have to wait until the 15th for mine to come in! :(

We are hearing a variety of things from sales people at various places.....some information has been reported as not being correct. I think the "Phantom 2" version uses a GCU already present in the Phantom 2 model. Sure would like to know why they discontinued the sales of individual units...

I hope the one "ianwood" got works well. He hasn't posted an update on it yet..... ! I have not upgraded from 1.08 version so.... I'll have to swallow the new firmware changes that they have released along with installing the new gimbal as well!

Let us know how it goes! Just saw this thread while questioning the same thing in my previous posting. I don't think the reason they halted sales would be complaints...... I don't see how they could have gotten enough out to the field that quick to have numerous complaints yet but....who knows...

Checked the B&H Photo web site just now. The description now includes the statement....... "Item not for sale"! I got the shipping confirmation on mine and should receive it by next Thursday. It sounds like either we lucked up and got in on just a small batch that came thru...... or possibly B&H...

My guess is that they are really....really....busy. I bought a Phantom 2 with gimbal from them and I used to be able to call and get help with technical issues quickly but...... it seems not so much anymore. You might want to add another dealer or two to your list of who to call if you need...

Has anybody noticed this? Surely the price of the 3D gimbal sold separately will have to be significantly higher than what the 2D sells for now. I've heard maybe as much as $100 more from a dealer I use regularly. I think I'll take a chance and place an order hoping that they'll honor the listed...

Has anyone noticed that the H3 3D gimbal is not as heavy built as the H3 2D? I think I saw on the spec sheet that it is several grams lighter and a saleman told me that it appeared to be made of lighter materials? Wonder if this may contribute to more vibration or make it more sensitive when...

Keep us posted on how everything works! From the pictures, it looks like gimbal still goes up in battery compartment quite a bit!

I was wondering the same thing. I had heard rumours of the gimbal maybe touching the battery thru the hole (maybe fixed by adding washers to make it standoff a little)? Also, something about an "interference" board having to be added for the H3 3D gimbal to work properly for FPV?

Although it's been said several times thru the course of this thread, I have to say it one more time....... a HUGE thank you to Ianwood for sharing his knowledge of the Futaba 8FG controller and the profile he has created and fine-tuned. Although this motivated me to go out and buy a Futaba 8FG...
