If it has less than 10 flights it's not a stress crack from the motor but a factory worker tightening it too much.

I follow these forums and Facebook groups pretty close. I've read about motor failures, but I don't see a lot of posts about them. So out of the tens of thousands sold, motor failures don't seem to be in the top 5 problems or complaints. This is just my opinion based on what I read.

I got mine off of Amazon. If you do find some and decide to go that route, get the kind that fold up (like a clam shell) for easy storage. When I get home I'll see if I can find a model number or something on mine.

You do need to be pointed in the general direction of the Phantom. You don't have to be spot on by any means, but as long as you are pointed towards the phantom you'll be fine.

I'm a firm believer in the Windsurfer. I use the copper variety. As I said earlier, I've made it out 15,000 feet without any loss of signal strength. Now there are some out there that are pieces of crap and give the good ones a bad name, but you can't go wrong by going to Amazon and searching...

A bit more info is needed. Are you wanting to modify (take apart, rewire, etc) or just something very simple?

No on the H. I haven't hardly heard of any p4 flyaways, at least not like the older models. I vote P4

I used to have a 2 PV2+ and I was lucky to get 1000 ft. With my P4 I've had it out to almost 15,000 ft with no signal strength loss. I won't make it a habit of doing that though, but it was fun.

Could I get a suggestion for, or reference I guess, for someone to do my vinyl FAA registration numbers. I know there are several who offer it, but I'd like to hear some first hand experience. Thanks, Joel
