    Actual Battery Usage of Phantom-2

Indeed, reality thought me that I have reached the point where the drone needs to loose weight and I need to buy more batteries. My conclusion: If I want Steady Video (ie. a Gimbal), FPV, iOSD, I need accept the 14-15 minutes flight-time per battery.

Setting up the Futaba T8FGS (or 14SG) with the P2

Uh.. I have bought a T14SG two weeks ago, opened it and removed the black cover which was mounted on the left switch (three screws). The T14SG left stick behaviour/feel now is exactly the same as the right stick behaviour/feel. I did not need any spares. Howto...

Replacement of Stock Controller with T14SG Controller

I'm in the process of replacing my DJI Phantom-2 Stock Controller with a Futaba T14SG. I'm almost done with the configuration/programming that i want (see below). I have one issue/setting left: In the PT2 navigator i can set the Gimbal gain in the GUI. In the Futaba T14SG in the Linkage Menu...

Please learn from my mistakes (I lost my Drone)

UPDATE: Please learn from my mistakes (I lost my Drone) I have rationalised the setup of my Phantom kit. I think i now have the Ideal (at least:for me) Phantom 2 setup Since i prefer prevention of a disaster over recovering from a disaster, I replaced the DJI kit controller with a Futaba 14SG...

    Actual Battery Usage of Phantom-2

I agree 14-15 minutes is very decent. And yes, buying additional batteries does makes sense when you fly within line-of-sight. Rationalisation of weight also is good. I.e. by replacing/trimming components it is possible to reduce weight without loosing essential functionality. E.g. this week...

    Actual Battery Usage of Phantom-2

I took of the prop-guards (75 grams), replaced plastic props with the carbon fibre props. Flight time (from 98% to 30%) increased to 15 minutes (exactly the same as FASTFJR). Total Drone Weight incl. camera/gimbal/battery etc now is 1321 grams. I.e. 75 gram reduction brought 2 mins. extra...

    Actual Battery Usage of Phantom-2

Indeed, albeit that i took some of the extra gadgets off that i added without thinking (which already saved 6% on weight), my Drone still is a bit fat today: As you can see, I have 4 DJI prop-guards of 18,7 grams each on my Drone. If I take them off, my drone will weigh less than 1332 grams...

Please learn from my mistakes (I lost my Drone)

Recently i lost my Drone since i was so stupid to move away from where the drone started. When I lost contact the drone went back to where it started: on a boat that was no longer there... Halfway the battery reached the point of where the drone immediately lands. Three search and rescue actions...

    Actual Battery Usage of Phantom-2

I have a Phantom-2 (no Vision) with a GoPro Hero 3+, Zenmuse H3-3D, Boscam 32CH FPV-TX, Flytrex Core-2 and iOSD Mini. The total weight of the kit-in-air incl. battery is 1407 Grams. I recorded a flight incl. On Screen Display details and made a graph of the battery usage over time, I'm getting...

wavy "interference lines" on Boscam w/TS353?

My second Phantom-2 Drone is equipped with a Boscam TS353 Transmitter and Zenmuse H3-3D Gimbal. I first used the Skyfox 7" diversity and replaced the stock antenna's on it. This made the visibility slightly better, but the interference staid. I have now switched to Flysight Black Pearl 7" LCD...
