I just installed my DBS mod and I am very pleased with the range improvement, continuity of signal, etc. This thing is awesome! I think something may be wrong with what you got.

Side question about the DBS mod on the standard, does it have antennas built into it for 2.4 GHz as well as 5.8 GHz or is it only one? I'm confused by this picture on the link which seems to show the 5.8 GHz stock antenna still attached. DBS STANDARD

I was definitely flying in P-GPS mode, not P-ATTI. I don't think this program you have might read the mode right. I tried to reply in DJI Go and it clearly shows P-GPS and my screen always showed P-GPS and never switched to ATTI mode while I was flying....
