I was for sure hesitant about spending the money on another Phantom after my P2v went AWOL last year. After that, I stuck with cheap micros, went a little bigger with the Alias, a few cheap Alias clones and a more powerful 200QX. Finally wanted a decent camera platform and first went with the...
If that doesn't take care of the problem, you might want to check the prop balance. I had the same thing happen once after putting on "new" props. They weren't the original DJIs but the aftermarket XOXOs, and it turned out they were so horribly balanced that I couldn't get off the ground...
Another peeping Tom story...

You might want to look into purchasing just the copter end of things, keeping your transmitter/repeater. I've read that some dealers will work with you on that type of thing. Lessen the blow...a little. Sorry to hear your story.
Re: P2 * H3-3D * AVL58 * 7" Monitor * others
I'm interested and tried to pm you but it went to my outbox and sat there. Where are you located? I'm in WI. What kind of range are you getting (FPV & Transmitter)? How many discharges on the battery? Let me know when you get a moment and thanks...
Exactly why I added them on my P2V. They do affect the performance of the aircraft, especially in windy conditions. But as long as you know this going in, I would strongly suggest them especially for a new flyer or anyone flying in tight spaces. The P2V+ gimbal/camera isn't nearly as robust...
Home Lock worked great for me...until it didn't. That was on a P2v. Still saving my pennies for a + (and a GPS tracker). REALLY wish I would have had one when I was standing there with a transmitter in my hand and a blank stare on my face :?
I noticed the altitude discrepancy several months after I got my Phantom. It's normal for it to be off by some. Mine showed 20 ft. just before I was gonna hand land it and no I'm not that tall nor do I have the reach! From what I've read altitude isn't an exact science even on full scale...
I'm gonna go out on a different limb and suggest maybe it was a power failure to one of the motors. I know on my P2V I had some bad solders that popped off mid flight and while I can't confirm the 45 degree angle (it was above the trees and my first indication of a problem was when I heard it...
Are these problem unit flying with the newest firmware/app? If so, have you tried rolling back to 1.08 in the firmware and 1.0.38 in the app? Might be worth a shot to narrow it down. Good luck!
