Oops yes you got me on that one.
This one was made for Matrice , never installed.
I was going to install this in the controller for a stealth boosted look but never did that yet.
I don't think I want to get into that debate. I tested mine before I installed and I think I had the older model but I wasn't mapping everything out, I was just installing. (That whole story about Lightbridge "swapping ports" sounds like somebody covering for their own mistake if you ask me.)...
Yes exactly. The raw board doesn't have Big bulky SMA connectors. So I soldered on an MMCX pigtail to reach the Lightbridge module, and then an MMCX female to plug the leg antenna into. Cleaner, neater, less weight, and those leg antennas are already very good.
Available on eBay for 14 bucks...
I think this question was answered a few posts back.
The test proved only one is sending. But it still remains plausible that both can be receiving, satisfying the mimo requirement. (One radio is bidirectional and one is receive only) . and DJI did describe the Lightbridge system as functioning...
Lesson being learned in this thread?
We already have ground station antenna setups that will go 10 miles.
Some people here are interested in maximum range.
Some interested in maximum penetration.
If you are looking for maximum range, the only mod on the bird should be battery. More flight time...
Yes it does but in strange ways.
2.4gHz is the same as a microwave oven. So if it heats up in a microwave oven? It is a signal absorber.
That being said, it would appear logical that the best day to fly would be 0% humidity. But many flyers report incredible boosts when there is a low layer of...
I did the same with the GoodLuckBuy board you linked.
Amazing how people rip people off and go around promoting their site like "made in America" or whatever.
So much neater and cleaner that way starting with the raw board.
Less weight. Less connector points. Cleaner signal path. Less mess.
No...
Finally someone talking sense. I hope you hang around and contribute more. There has been so much misinformation disseminated here by a particular vendor that it is hard to see any coherent facts about anything anymore.
Cool video man.
I wouldn't have done that with the wiring on the controller though and there's a good reason why dbs does his a certain way.
Those antenna wire you have all bunched together and coiled up under the controller are fairly fragile, should be kept as straight and unbent as possible...
Definitely test and mess around with that. Sounds like you ran into an interference area or something if your distance was that short. I'm getting more than I feel comfortable with (I can fly until the RTH battery warning shows) in all directions out at the beach but then get back to the...
Not sure why everybody thinks this.
Warranty is void as soon as you scrape the silicone off of the u.fl connectors to install any of these antennas.
If you don't want to drill holes, that's a personal decision.
But don't let this warranty fluff make up your mind.
That's why they put the silicone...
Also antenna aiming.
The wifi antennas inside the controller are pointed directly forward.
Like the beam is coming out of the font (top?) of the controller where the tilt wheel is. So that top part of the controller should be pointed at the Standard. But the dipole antenna should be 90 degree...
