The definition of a 'congested area' is defined by the CAA as 'in relation to a city, town or settlement, means any area which is substantially used for residential, industrial, commercial or recreational purposes.'

You took off from a building, so you were within 50m of that building and the ones surrounding it and then flying over houses, I hate to think what you consider to be a congested area.

I've had 40-50 flight with my P2V+, with no flyaway issues. Key points for me are;
Set it up so you can put it into ATTI mode (and practice in this mode) if required, so if you do have a flyaway due to GPS errors you can regain control.
Always calibrate the compass at a new site.

Just playing devils advocate, how do we know that the relevant permissions weren't gained? e.g. agreement from building owners, Cardiff ATC approval etc. I know, highly unlikely and for some of the actions there isn't a permission, but you never know ;-)
