in situations like that, you can place a small square of felt between the ball and the mount and it will tighten things up but still allow for movement when you want it. :)
I'm going to do some tests for everyone tonight.
i am going to test the camera with multiple devices i have around the house to see how far each one will go before losing signal
here is what will be tested.
iphone 4, 4s, and 5s
ipad 3
ipad 4
ipad mini
samsung galaxy s3
samsung note 3
Nexus 7...
silly questions but...
is your camera turned on when you plug it into the computer?
do you have the sd card plugged into the camera?
have you installed the camera's drivers on your pc?
are you able to plug the sd card into an sd card reader on your pc?
basically what you do is just buy a car GPS mount that has the ball swivel joint, pop it off the ball and pop it onto the phantom's ball joint which normally holds a clip for phones.
use something like this http://www.amazon.com/Heininger-1066-Co ... ndow+mount
i can tell you from my own personal experience that connecting to the iphone was horrible for me. it never wanted to do it first try and it would lose connection after a couple hundred feet.
then i switched to a galaxy note 3 and i can fly very far away, almost as far away as i am comfortable...
