Yeah, sounds like you did the CSC to shut down the motors. It's highly unlikely that the car would have anything to do with a flip like that.

It's going to get fairly warm. Many parts of the phantom will warm up quite significantly. The motors, the battery, the gimbal. Just to name a few. It's normal. You can't forget that this is basically a flying computer. All that processing (video processing in the case of the gimbal) generates heat.

I haven't wrapped mine, but I can tell you that vinyl wraps won't affect reception at all. I wrapped my V+ in a full vinyl skin and never had an issue with it.

That's why I get a phantom case that fits carry on requirements. I just take the whole thing with me on the plane. I wouldn't want baggage handlers to touch my Phantom, even with a hard case. I swear, it's like they TRY to break as much stuff as possible.

Glad someone already posted this. Once I figured this method out I felt stupid for trying it the other way. It's now how I always remove the battery. Much easier, and doesn't jostle the aircraft at all.

It will only think it has landed when you are holding the stick all the way down and the aircraft isn't descending at all. No need to worry.

It sets the altitude at 0 wherever your home point is. If you start on an elevated area and fly below your home point, it will display negative altitude. Other than that, nothing will really happen. Everything else acts normally.
