Get a cheap little quad for practice. I would suggest that over all so that you get the feel of flying without GPS. Also if you crash it you wont be spending lots of money to fix it. I have an Dromida Ominus that I bought for training people to fly on. It's cheap and easy to fix. It's good...
As far as FPV it would depend on how far you plan to fly from you. If your planning on using it far enough away then you need to consider building a ground station that would give you distance that you need for flying it. Also your going to need more than two batteries as that the flight time...
I can adjust to level but the very next time I power up it's off again. It's also getting slower to center after power up and gimbal does it's test then a few seconds later it flips right then slowly returns to center. This is getting a little frustrating. I've even went back down a version...
Probably should of said that I've done both warm and cold IMU and Compass & Gimbal and the whole nine yards. This is the first time I've had any issues with my machine. Just wondering if anyone else is having a problem. What's really weird is the gimbal flipping to the right really fast then...
So I have been away for a little over a week and just updated my P3 Advanced with the latest firmware but now I'm seeing the gimbal is tilted and when start up is done the gimbal flips to the right and then slowly returns to center position. What do you guys think?
I have built and bought a lot of different aircraft over time and I must say that the Phantom that I own now is the first that even came close to what was promised. I live in Utah and it's been really cold here! So cold some days that your fingers freeze before the Phantom is even out of power...
Your going to love your purchase. As RedHotPoker said check the firmware version and make everything is calibrated before your first flight. I have the advanced and love it.
I don't dare fly in the house with the P3.... I have other drones that I do that with. Not enough space and I have low ceilings... Not to mention 2 big dogs and one is a puppy that has already broke my little hubsan.
You can still have fun with this even if you don't let it out of your sight. I remember the first time I did FPV. That was a scary time for me but now it's not so bad. I really only use it now for the quad racer's that I have because I like a bigger screen to get that really nice shot setup...
