Custom Quad Frame and Scratch Build Instructional

Yes, we are using the RC Timer IMP gimbal, 3 axis with alexmos board. It seems to be the lightest 3 axis go pro gimbal out there right now. We're still finishing up the build, hoping to have more content soon.

Custom Quad Frame and Scratch Build Instructional

I recently teamed up with an experienced multi-rotor builder who has been teaching me about the build, the components, and the advantages of customizing a rig over buying an RTF platform. Along with putting in the time and money for our build, we've decided to document the process in a complete...

PV vs AMP 450 or Disco Pro

Based on the multi rotors you're considering, I think that you should consider your own custom build. "RTF" units in the price range that you're in ($2-3k) are kind of over hyped, and for the price increase, they're only marginally better than something like the Phantom or P2V.When you decide to...

What will happen on Jan. 7 now?? Is there MORE??

I could see them making some type of fpv iphone solution like you said. But will there ever be a way to conrol the gopro remotely? It seems to me that they would need to partner with gopro to make something like that work...

    Goodluckbuy VISION gimbals

It looks like GoodLuckBuy has new gimbals for phantom 2 vision, although it looks like they are for swapping out the vision camera for use with a GoPro. I'm wondering if anyone knows anything about these gimbals, and what (if anything) makes these gimbals specifically designed for Phantom 2...

    NAZA mode

Thanks for the clarification. There's a lot of good info in this thread. So, I do agree that beginners should get comfortable flying in vision mode before using other features in NAZA mode... But, I don't see the difference between the default vision mode compared with flying in NAZA mode...

    NAZA mode

When using vision mode (the out of the box setting), you're always using full gps assistance no matter what the S1 switch position. In VISION mode, the S1 switch allows you to choose what the phantom should do in the event of a break between transmitter and bird, thats it. In NAZA mode, your S1...

    "Plug and Play"

I've been doing some looking around at gimbal options lately. And I was interested in breaking down what it means to have a gimbal that is "Plug and Play". Typically I think, mount and plug in a cord to a port, thats it. It seems that with some gimbals you can do this, and others you may need...

DJI Phantom 2 Vision at Turks and Caicos Islands

Cool video. Looked like fun time. You could tell in the trees you were dealing with some wind. And your descending shot at 1:40 makes me think you may be using full gps mode? Just a guess Have you tried using the dji lens correction on your video? You download the profile from dji, then apply...

    Successful Zenmuse+GoPro installation on Vision

You make good points for sure. I have my P2V now, and I'd love to swap out with a zenmuse + gopro for smooth video when I wanted it. For photos, the P2V camera + fpv and app is still the best. So, it looks like it is possible to control the tilt.. Take a look at the second video that I posted...

    Successful Zenmuse+GoPro installation on Vision

Another successful install... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZSMJ2a0 ... fGzVnIJdsw I'm wondering what seems to be the problem that people are having doing this?

    Successful Zenmuse+GoPro installation on Vision

It looks to me like somebody was able to get the zenmuse gimbal to work on the vision... Hopefully he'll respond to some of the comments on his video with details... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nDqUNQToPY

Camera Control: Zenmuse, Hero 3, Phantom 2 (or Vision)

I like option #2, Retrofit a Zenmuse H3-2D onto P2V for higher quality, stabilized video but loss of telemetry The only problem is, it doesn't appear that anyone has been able to retrofit a zenmuse gimbal onto a vision and get it to work correctly. Seems to be a software related issue. I'm...
